From what I am hearing, you got it right. The three that died in the accident were The preacher, farmer and the teacher. The preacher handed the blood stained Bible to the hooker and asked "Can't you see the promise land?" Then the hooker must've straightened up her life and taught her son the ways of the good book. He grew up to be a preacher and told the story.

Yes. The farmer, the teacher, and the preacher had all left good, positive legacies behind them, but the hooker had not. So she was the one who survived, and was given a chance to leave her own positive legacy, which she did, by raising her son to be a preacher himself. Remember: "Why there's not four of them, now I guess we know."

The farmer left his land to his son. The teacher left wisdom in her students. The preacher left the Bible and a chance at redemption foe the hooker. When the hooker is gone, she left the word of God with her son. This is really the ultimate redemption song.

One of my all time favorite songs by the amazing Randy Travis. Thanks for reacting to this. ❤. And yes, the survivor was the hooker and the preacher gave her his Bible. She taught her son well and led him to the right path and her son became a preacher.

Ok so listened to this song many many times on our local country station years ago. Every time it brings tears to my eyes. You’re right the preacher gave his Bible to the hooker as he passed away. She read that bible to the now preacher. GOD IS AMAZING YALL

First of all thank you for all the reactions! Yall are beautiful. I'm #HOG but I'm also an old guy who has been a fan of Randy Travis since he broke out in 1989. Interesting career very successful country musician. God touched him and he wanted to start doing gospel. The record industry wouldn't allow it under contract. When his contract expired Randy dropped a few gospel cds that include some great heart felt music. This is only one of them. I encourage you to dive in if not on this channel for your own blessings. Thank you Marcus and Christian

I hope y’all get it, most people don’t the first time they listen to it….the hooker had unfinished business here on earth and so it wasn’t her time but u will learn at the end what her purpose was, her son became a preacher and he used the Bible that the preacher that died put into his mama’s (hooker) hands

You got the main idea.3 wooden crosses because 3 people died. There are 2 preachers in the story.1 in the beginning who happened to be on the bus and 2 the son of the hooker who grew up to be a preacher. The 2nd one was telling the story.Nice job many miss it.

This is a song that tells us that no one is beyond the reach of God. As Christians we spread the Word not knowing how it may impact somebody’s life for Him. The simple gesture of handing a woman of ill repute a Bible led her to raising a son who would go on to leading others to Christ.

The hooker survived the crash, the preacher handed her his Bible and said those words to her with his last breath. It changed her life forever, turned her life around and taught the word of God to her son in the future who ended up becoming the preacher that told his flock at the end of the song about the story.

Great reaction to a powerful song, and it's cool to see the baby in this video. It's just too bad that Marcus' microphone kept cutting out. I was really interested in hearing both of your commentary. He's right about the three crosses from the crucifixion, but it has a double meaning in this song. So you're both right.

Your discussion of the song reminded me of the following lyrics from Yes's Awaken: Like the time I ran away And turned around And you were standing close to me The lyricist has confired that the meaning is that he has always found that when he has run away from God, whenever he turned back, God was there for him. It's something about human nature that we often go our own way,a nd something about God's nature that he is always there for us when we turn back.

The Farmer , Teacher and Preacher were the 3 with a cross on the right side of the Highway. Before the Preacher dies - He gives his BloodStained bible to the { Hooker } and asks can't you see the Promise Land. The Hooker takes the bible ; embraces it and passe's its teachings onto her son who then becomes a Preacher _ who was telling the story of the 3 Wooden Crosse's.

The hooker lived. The preacher gave her his Bible before he died. She read it and read it to her son who became a preacher. Some might wonder, why would God take the preacher, the teacher and the farmer and let the hooker live. In the last verse we see His purpose for doing that.
