Something that I think falls off the radar in the Kyle beach incident is that the players who helped cover it up and (according to some reports) even mocked him for it got *nothing* for their actions. That doesn't sit right with me at all especially since many of them are still in the league today

We have to keep in mind that given the mentality of the organization, the big stars of the franchise were highly catered to and no doubt lied to by the front office. While I'm not saying that they couldn’t have at least heard rumours about Beach, when someone is treating you like a King and others begin to say that your benefactors are not so great, it's reasonable to believe that they could be easily pursuaded to turn a blind eye and behave like they didn’t WANT to know, which is admittedly still quite a sorry excuse. I'm not saying that's good either, but it is understandable IMO.

As a hockey fan from Germany I actually saw Kyle Beach play here. My team is in the same league as Bad Tölz (where he played for when the picture was taken) and I always wondered what a former first round pick was doing in the 2nd German league since we rarely get any players who had a real chance of getting to the NHL. As I heard about his story it all made sense. I don’t even want to think about how many young players are out there who did not have the strength to talk about what happened to them.

The Fenton situation was so dumb, it just shows that you don't always have to listen to the fans. Especially since those moves he did are part of the reason the wild are currently 1st in the central division.

Fenton wasn’t fired because of his trades. There was a ton of turmoil behind closed doors that was mostly caused by Fenton refusing to listen to his colleagues, trying to retain salary on Granlund and add more to the deal just for Fiala in return, and also sending Eriksson Ek and Kunin to the minors who were playing great just he could play Pontus Aberg and Anthony Bitetto. He also apparently threw tantrums every time news was leaked and threatened to fire basically everyone in the front office as a result. Just glad that era was short lived

Prior to this October, I looked at the stat sheet and saw that Kyle Beach was an 11th overall pick, yet never played a single NHL game. I thought to myself, what a bust. NOW it all makes sense as to WHY such a high draft pick never played an NHL game.

As a blackhawks fan… the Kyle beach incident absolutely disgusts me. When it happens in the league it’s awful but when it happens on the team you’ve spent your entire life cheering for it’s heartbreaking. It’s a big part of the reason I don’t really watch the sport I love anymore

The Blackhawks as a franchise, need to be hit with the book (the big book of "you'll lose years"), and everyone that assisted in the destruction of not just a prospect, but destroyed a young man's life. The equivalent to the death penalty, needs to be taken against the organization as a whole

I don't know. Frankly I think the Bruins gave up too much for Coyle in that trade. Coyle was coming off of three seasons of decreasing production. He had pretty much as high of a cap hit as you'd want to pay a 3rd line center. And you had Donato who was coming off of a single bad season but who had proven he could produce in the playoffs was on an entry deal so was cheap. And the Bruins gave up a sweetener. To me that deal was absurd. The Bruins then made it even worse by giving Coyle a big undeserved raise but even just as the deal stood I still think that was a good deal for the Wild. They got to take a swing at a prospect with high end upside, and they got to shave a bunch of cap and get an extra pick.

Although Fenton was fired for his professional and stuff in the front office, I still would say the only good thing was signing Zucarello, all his trades haven’t panned out and his trades are not the reason the wild sit in first right now besides Zucarello, Rask has so many points because he gets paired with Kaprizov and Zucarello and they are the driving offensive line, you could hypothetically put anyone their and they will get a lot of points, the Coyle trade flopped and Fiala (although proven to be good) is streaky and honestly would rather still have Granlund on the team (cause I like him a lot on the Wild) most of what made the Wild successful today was actually Chuck Fletcher’s draft picks and Bill Guerins signings (cause his draft picks are still developing), he also drafted a complete bust in the first round in 2018 and had Matthew Boldy, I do not actually think Fenton would be a good GM if he still was the GM for the Wild today

I wonder if Pierre Dorion will be given the boot at some point this season. Before the season began, Dorion said publicly that the rebuild was over in Ottawa. Yet, so far this season it is evident that the rebuild is not done. The Senators are still nowhere close to competing for a playoff spot, even if they may be closer than they were last season.

To not let the prospects prosper and sign vetarans over and over is the reason why I and many others started to hate Lou Lamareillo. Sure he had built a strong core over the years and many Devils fans have him to thank for some amazing moments. But in the end of his tenure with njd, he kept signing 40 year old veterans and not let our propsects a chance of growing into devils. He only postponed the eventual rebuild. Its why we are where we are today.

Kyle beech never played in the NHL because he isn't an NHL caliber player. I feel bad for him for what happened in Chicago but don't try and make it seem like he's not in the NHL because of that. If he was good someone would sign him.
