Honestly, I disagree with this video completely. Deadlocked has a couple of glaring issues. Firstly, Deadlocked doesn't have good difficulty balacing. parts like the 3x speed wave at the beginning are much harder than the first ball, for example. In addition, it doesn't help that the hardests parts of deadlocked (besides the 56% ship part, which is pretty good in my opinion) are 3x speed wave spam. Robtop has proven in the past he doesn't need spammy gameplay to create difficult gameplay, and I don't really think these part are very intersting. Sure, they are not the worst thing in the world, but I don't think they really make the level any better. Secondly, Deadlocked isn't very sightreadable. This isn't bad design on it's own, but deadlocked isn't a memory level nor it's supposed to feel unfair like clubstep, so for new players dying to it could mean that the level would feel unfair and badly desgined. It is also worth noting that Deadlocked has the worst transtion in the entire base game- a mini wave into a ship where you immediately have to act (the transtion at 79%). Lastly, this video seems to suggest that difficulty is a good thing. It isn't a good thing on it's own, otherwise levels like Avernus would be considered amazing. All this isn't to say that Deadlocked is a bad level, far from it. The level certainly is satisfying to play once you're good enough to beat it, but I think there are better levels out there, and calling it "genius" is a bit of a stretch. To end things off, I apologise if I came off as rude- that wasn't my intention.

ToE2 is overall just better than Deadlocked. while it too somewhat suffers from balacing issues and unsightreadable gameplay, it's no where near the level of bedrock, and the level is a really fun and fast paced (for RobTop levels) level overall. As for Clubstep? It's by far the most influential level RobTop has ever made, both for new and old levels. (Take the Clubstep monster for example). And although clubstep does suffer from a handful of problems itself, it's better overall due to its influence. This does not mean Deadlocked is a bad level, and you may prefer it over clubstep and ToE2. But if we try to look at it from an objective point of view (which is both hard and flawed), I think it ends up being the worst

Man, I get that sightreadability is important, like you're not supposed to fly off the corner of the map into a blind jump, but I get sick of that argument When will you guys learn that this game has a practice mode? Literally all arguments with sightreadability regarding Rob's levels are blown away by it, the memorization part at the end of Deadlocked is inside other levels as well, it's pretty much the game at its core (Geo Dominator dark part? ToE 2 invisible block ship part and invisible block ball part? XStep third cube part in the middle of the level? ToE1 ufo tunnels? What about all the secret coins? It's not like they weren't called SECRET for nothing? Also Deadlocked being difficult doesn't mean its good... but that doesn't mean the opposite, either. Personally it manages to take everything you've learned in the game (by far) into one single cohesive level (notice how the only things you're missing is pink orbs, mini robot and mirror portals), as it was the ultimate test, as I like to see it, which is adequate for the 20th main level the only thing I agree with you though is the 3x speed wave. Spam isn't a good difficulty, and a lot of Deadlocked attempts can pretty much be separated into either "went past the 13% mark" or "didn't simply", which is annoying

personally, i dont agree. hard doesnt mean good, and although deadlocked is a good level, it has a lot of unsightreadable gameplay and some transitions might unfairly kill you. personally i like electroman adventures the best, but thats just my opinion

I personally think Deadlocked is an amazing level, my favourite parts are probably the first ship, the mini ball and the second cube/first robot (right before the mini ball), since they're each pretty challenging in their own way, and they feel the most satisfying to get past. The only annoying things about the level are the bugs/bad transitions, like the transition from the mini wave into the memory ship, and the weird teleportal bug in the first cube, both could be easily fixed, even only using 2.0 features.

Finally someone agrees with me, especially the point about how this tests every single gamemode at this point in every way, and new gimmicks are incorporated perfectly. Its not just fakes and memory like Clubstep and has new gimmicks to show for each section and not just difficulty gameplay like ToE2. This really is like the Champion's Road of GD. Not to mention the deco stilll really holds up today. My only issue with this level is that some of the portals are invisible for no real reason.

YES! Finally a KZbinr who says Deadlocked is the best RobTop Level. It was my first demon, and it was very enjoyable. There wasn't much stress going through my brain when I was at the end of the level. A good rule of thumb is that if you're not stressed at the end of a level, it's a good experience for you. I might even go so far as to say it is the best level in all of GD. P.S. the coins are really good, too.

This level is a masterpiece, but if I had to make one change, it would the ending with the cube. I think it's the least memorable part, because it's so similar to the cube part in the middle that uses the same castle block design. And because mini robot hasn't been used in the level yet, I think the ending would've been perfect if it was a mini robot and further tested your robot jumping precision.
