Rob, why are F4 Pro lenses not listed as compatible with focus bracketing or high def photography?
@RobTrek Жыл бұрын
I think all AF lenses work with bracketing, but only some pro lenses for stacking. I don't know why. High Res will work with all lenses, including vintage manual focus.

Thank you Rob clearing all the shutter modes out for me. I sent a donation off to you for all your time and info. I am comfortable with silent sequential and I do like the blackouts as it gives me some idea how many images I am actually taking. I love my OM1 and 300 f4 combo. Such crisply sharp images and the bird capture focus is amazing. I am trying to use Pro capture 2 and it is going to take awhile to get my muscle memory under control. QUESTION....my understanding is that you can half press and hold. How long can that be done before I have to repress without having full pressed the shutter button. Does the OM1 just dump whatever it had taken during pre focus or pre shooting? Again if you have covered all this just ref. me to the video. And of course thank you again, Joe McGrath

Hi Joe, Thank you so much for your support. I answered your question in a new video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoLWhYB-hbF9bKc

I had hoped to hear the shutter sounds of the individual cameras in all modes

Some advice please Rob. Recently I was shooting at the World Conker Championship using an OM1ii. I wanted to capture the moment of contact of the conkers and better still when one disintegrated. I was using SH1 at 100 frames per second at 1/320 of a sec. During its flight, the images start with the conker looking fine, (presumably travelling relatively slowly) but rapidly blur out as the sequence continues and at the point of impact, the conker has almost totally blurred out. I presume that this is a rolling shutter effect. Is it the rolling shutter effect and are there any better settings to alleviate this problem?
@RobTrek2 ай бұрын
I watched some videos of Conker as I never heard of this before. While your problem here is not rolling shutter, it is a problem for this kind of photography. You problem here is shutter speed. You need to be at least 1/1000. Try some shots at that speed, and make it faster if your shots are still blurry. SH1 may work, but rolling shutter may be an issue. The string and/or nut will be warped. Your best bet is to do mechanical shutter at 20fps.

Thanks for this Rob. I will try what you suggest. Best wishes Dave

Hi Rob,l have the om1 with the 100 400 lens l like to shoot birds but l feel I’m taking to many fps ie 50 . What mode should l be in to shoot 20 or 15 fps? Thanks
@RobTrek2 ай бұрын
I shoot in SH2 at 25fps.
@imagenatura Жыл бұрын
I don't know how bad it is in practice, 90 frames of buffer on a camera that shoots 120fps seems like an issue. The GH6 has got 200 frames of buffer, but only shoots 75fps in S-AF. I can only imagine the crazy data rates.

It's definitely for special situations. I used it for most of the photos at this golf event: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZikZn-fn7mlj6c
