Yeah this is why I hate replaying the level, other than that i actually enjoy playing the mission. The flood are really managable if you have a brute shot and a battle rifle. Brute shot melee is really OP against the flood. It staggers the tank forms and as long as they're not shielded elite flood brute shot melee pretty much one hit kills them unless mythic skull is on.

@@karel4845 Halo 2 starts October 20th, 2552, and Chief arrives back at Earth aboard the Anodyne Spirit on November 17th, 2552, commencing Halo 3. A lot actually happens in between Halo 2 and Halo 3 but only so much is explored in the original trilogy; a lot more events, on both sides of the war are expanded upon in the books, it just feels very fast in the games.

A big reason the flood took over the city was that 1) The Covenant Civil War was ongoing at the time, so the Covenant were busy murdering each other and not really paying attention to the flood and 2) The Anodyne Spirit (aka the Forerunner dreadnought aka the big triangle ship) was the main source of power for the entire city. Once it departed High Charity, the entire place basically lost power, plunging the entire thing into darkness, and, we can assume, stopping people from escaping (doors wont open, for example). High Charity never really expected to be directly assaulted so it's not unreasonable to assume that they grew lax in their security, but furthermore, In Amber Clad had slipspace jumped *inside* of the city, bypassing the defense fleet entirely

Aside from that I work 40 hours a week, have to spend time gaming online once a week with my best friends, have to spend time with my fiancée online and IRL, and also need to sell some retro games to make extra cash so I can move out and get married next year. I think I beat cortana in 30 minutes on LASO, but that was with save and quit glitch I don’t have the skill, patience, or luck to speedrun any mission on LASO tho 😭

Before I had Xbox Live as a kid I used to play Halo 3's campaign on easy difficulty every weekend. Cortana was the one level I absolutely dreaded and still do to this day. Easily my least favorite mission in the entire franchise. I honestly don't hate any other level, even The Library in H1 and Gravemind in H2, but this one I abhor, solo, co-op, easy or legendary.
