Sherrone Moore and the Michigan Wolverines Football program continue to try to do work on the recruiting trail and the transfer portal. Rocco Spindler and Pat Coogan continue to be targets in the portal along with Ty Haywood closing in on a decision with signing day coming up.

Nathaniel Marshall is moving up the rankings. He is an Aiden Hutchinson-level of a prospect on the edge/DL. That's why the Mathis talk has died down, IMO. Ty Haywood is the final piece to this recruiting class and I'm good with that.

Dude Marshall already ranked higher than Hutch. Hutch was a low to mid 4 star coming out of high school on most sites

Agreed - UM is deep at Edge so don’t see Mathis as a key need now, especially if J Barham rotates between Edge and LB.

Ty Haywood and Andrew Sprague at opposite OT spots to protect Bryce Underwood for the next 2-3 years sounds really nice! Not to mention Babaloa coming in as another 5 star. Things are looking good for the future of the Michigan football! Go Blue!

Gotta get some pass catcher talent that is for sure. Feel like that will be a big focus in the 2026 class, but would like to see them get one in the spring transfer portal window as well.

@@rocboysfootball Sherrone has stated an intention to be aggressive going after receivers in the spring portal. I like what they are doing now as far as stockpiling offensive linemen. Protect the investment. For me, the Bryce Underwood signing represents a new era of recruiting whereby we expect to sign the best of the best at every position. This has been the case with the Justice Haynes signing. Statistically, it is the case with Brady Norton also. It's trending to be so with Savion Hiter, and others. It needs to become the reality within our Wide Receiver room this spring for this team to reach its championship potential.

Haywood gets the classic Michigan tumble. One of the last 5-stars on the comp. One rankings change away from being downgraded to a 4-star. It’s damn near every top-100 dude they target.

Personally, I’d grade Coogan slightly higher than Spindler. But both offer upgrades. So I’m not going to be upset if they get either one.

I keep hearing people say things like “chips all in,” or “outbid.” Michigan should never be outbid for a recruit. There’s no salary cap, and they have unlimited funds. If they have to give every recruit $10 million then so be it. They need to stop “doing it the right way” and recruit just like everyone else. In today’s game, buying a chip is the thing to do. 🤷🏻‍♂️

NE needs Rocco more than UM, given NE loses to the portal so can offer him the starting role he wants, which UM never would. Like you, I prefer Coogan’s Center/Guard flexibility - far more valuable than a one trick pony. Also like what his coaches say re: Coogan’s leadership and positive attitude. Moore will require either player to compete, no guarantees…

More the merrier is right. I like Coogan a little more with the versatility, but I would be happy with either.
