I am with you on Disney being at it beat when it is cheesy. There is something really great when the park is just... playful. When it is doing stuff that is a great mix of awe and playfulness, the feeling is spectacular. That's why I really enjoy Epcot so much because it does a great job of balancing play, beauty and futurism.

The news of Toriyama kicked me so hard in the gut, I grew up watching dragonball after school everyday up here in Canada. Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest also formed my tastes in video games, and was an eventual gateway into TTRPGs like DnD.

Man I really appreciate Kevin's take on not calling parks of exclusively rollercoasters theme parks! I'm about 30-40 minutes away from six flags, and to my knowledge there's next to no rides that someone like my self who dislikes coasters can go on. Kinda sucks for that to be the only "theme park" in my area. No hate to y'all coaster heads, but having to fly to Florida or Anaheim for dark rides kinda sucks booty

This is a perfect example why you shouldn't bring up 'celebrity' deaths in peoples chat during streams, leave that to your discords and tweets, don't bother people trying to produce a live show about theme parks with news that could be upsetting to them. People bringing it up at like 28:00 are just so shocked that they didn't completely turn their Theme Park stream into a tribute stream. smh. Hot take: Johnny Rockets at Six Flags sells the same food that every other burger stand in the park does.

I'm late to this, but I would love for you guys to do an episode on your personal park nostalgia (not just things closing and opening, but experience as well.) I'm a Disney World guy, and I have so many memories growing up of old Epcot and MGM Studios, OG fast pass, and how parks used to stay open until 3 AM, and it's just such a completely different experience now across the board. This sort of relates to your opinions on change being good, which I agree with for the most part, except for their removing the Innoventions music loop in Epcot. That was downright bad.

Glad you talked about the strollers. As a kid in the 90s being pushed around in a stroller, I don't think I cared that it lacked A/C and a cup-holder and four-wheel drive. It's a total lazy helicopter parent thing, and it's up to theme park companies to enforce some policies and hopefully, with time, reverse those trends.

The only time I've had issues with mobile ordering at the Disney parks was one time I was at DCA on a busy night, I mobile ordered a drink and had to wait in a longer line than the standard wait line for the same drinks. I think the drink stand forgot to turn off mobile ordering when things got busy, and it just caused a huge backup. Mobile ordering is great, and saves so much time otherwise.

Still waiting on the episode on DL hotels shot on site. edit: I'll add, to your first point; visiting DL from Australia last October, I thought the same thing about the food prices. $12.99 for a clam chowder bread bowl, and then like $3 or whatever it was for a coffee? Insane value for a theme park. I ate that all 3 days I was there.

Hot take: the enchanted tiki room under new management gets unnecessary hate. Other than the tiki rap (which was always cringe) I always found UNM to be more entertaining than the original show. (Or at least in WDW).

hot take: there's nothing wrong with six flags if you hate it you've just been to the shitty ones. the OG six flags over texas that first opened in 1961 still has that old school cool, nothing beats riding the world's first mine train and log flume rides ever made. And $120 for a season pass is a phenomenal value.

i did the millennium falcon with friends but 2 randoms were the pilots and us four are gamers, it was pretty obvious those two had never touched a game off of their phone but yeah. they couldn’t figure it out, if there was an obstacle, they’d go out of their way to hit it. they were adults btw if they were kids i wouldn’t feel as strongly about it

Also, i personally think of cedar point ans parks like it to be amusment parks and parks like disney to be theme parks. I think the distinction is helpful for managing expectations.

I think it would have been interesting, but I think as Americans Paris is far more romanticized as a destination. Even though the park was meant to give Europeans a "home" park, I think convincing Americans to have a getaway in ✨Paris✨ sounds better

About the app. For Disneyworld we found it to be the opposite. It worked perfectly on Android phones and the Apple phones had some issues.
