We are one of the most dangerous cities per capita in America, crime is down overall but we still need to crack down on theft and get the criminal activity down. Our mayor acts like a buffoon, as though this was not to be expected in his city. I give him credit for being better than the last one, but what a low bar that is. More police, less talking.

While I do feel sad for the GOOD people in that area taking this huge loss, I still agree with Walgreens leaving. They have gained more loss from shoplifters there than they have gained any profit. When a company is losing more than they are making,it is only wise for them to relocate to a place they will make money with. Maybe the mayor should be controversial with the behaviors of the individuals in these densely populated areas than with the companies that are leaving.

More frustrated with this than theft is why they are leaving

Clean up your community. Stores aren't there for people to STEAL from them. Not sorry - you reap what you sow.

You reap what you sow. The people living in this area have brought this upon themselves. These businesses aren't closing because business is booming. Malik is a tool.

Indeed, they are closing and moving to better locations where it would be less likely for them to lose merchandise that is causing them to lose money. They turn to have more stuff shoplifted from that store than they actually sell that is not a gain for them

You realize not everyone has the luxury of choosing where they live? Anyone living in this area that doesn't contribute to the crime statistics are just lumped in with the people who bring down the neighborhood.

Evans see it as a slap in the face, however his city is crime ridden . Businesses can not continue to lose money and stay in a city where shoplifting is rampant and overlooked. Should Evans want businesses to stay, clean up the crime, especially with the youths.

I don't blame them for shutting down. Everyone acts like morons over there. They probably got tired of getting robbed. If Rochester was actually smart we would be funding law enforcement more so these businesses don't have to worry about these issues. Plus the infrastructure is garbage down town. It literally looks like Detroit at this point...
