Sweet Daryl, I just read on the TRAINS website they got the computer hooked up in the Big Boy for PTC so it will be out this summer without the need of a backup Diesel Locomotive!!!

Very nice, I have enjoyed watching the layout come along. I just got my BLI 4014 two weeks ago. My first BLI. Very pleased with it. My Athearn 844 was one of my first locos as the UP excursion is one of my priority builds. Your layout is great and motivating.

Very nice! So glad you got some touches of steam power on your beautiful layout. Which is going to be epic with the completion of scenery. Love the diesel power but, there’s just something about steam especially the big boy. 🙌

Hi Darryl. Love your layout. May I make a couple of minor corrections to your comments. The run is to Promontory Summit, and the yellow tenders were converted to hold water.

Did you find it difficult to speed match the BLI locomotive to the Athearn Genesis units? I have found my BLI steam engines are very challenging to match to any other brand.

Not really. I do need to slow the FEF a bit. Right now it is pulling harder than the big boy so it's chuffs are louder. Also can be a problem coming down the helix and into the staging yard throat. It's pushing the big boys to tenders too hard an causing occasional derailments.
