The band Phish used the hot dog to fly over the crowd at the Boston Garden for New Years Eve 94 as a gag. They then used it to drive through a crowd of 80k fans for their Big Cypress festival at the NYE millennium in the Everglades. They then played a 7+ hour set until the sunrise nonstop, probably the longest set of music in Rock history.

As a drummer, seeing you play a little bit on the kit brought a smile on my face! Thanks for showing the Rock Hall! I haven't been there in a few years and it looks like they've got some new exhibits. The Dead Head in me also appreciates you taking the time to look at Jerry's digital art, what a wonderful display! To answer your question on that double-necked Gibson SG: the top portion is a 12 string guitar, while the bottom half is a standard 6 string. It just gives the guitarist more flexibility in the sounds they can produce without having to switch out for each separate guitar.

A buddy of mine and I happened to be in Cleveland at the same time as the ground breaking ceremony was happening, and Chuck Berry was playing, so of course we went. Somehow, we got separated in the crowd. I wound up pretty far back in the crowd, and my buddy had weaseled his way to the front, and got to shake Chucks hand, the ratfink. But I can say that I saw Chuck Berry play at the ground breaking of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Once in a lifetime, baby.

That must have been so exhausting to get through all of that museum. You had a lot to cover. The Jerry Garcia artwork reminded me of my 1986-1987 school year in my small town high school in NC where we had to create a full animation with art and music in a program on the MacIntosh Apple computer. Gen Xs don't get as much love but we sure had to do all the groundwork for the tech we enjoy these days. Still thankful I can get the system to do most of my work. :)

I read somewhere that the double-necked guitar was originally invented for young virtuoso named Larry Collins, whose arms weren't quite long enough to reach all the frets on a regular guitar. He was only like 10 years old at the time. Larry & his sister, Lorrie, performed together as the Collins Kids, & were quite popular in the late 50s, & Larry later went on to co-write the song, 'Delta Dawn', which was a huge hit for Tanya Tucker. Larry's still around, but I think he's retired. Lorried died a few years ago.
