Just a freaking BLAST to play. I did the same thing as you bro. I was playing the A Major barred on the 5th fret and playing the little riff from there with the Pentatonic from the D to the A with the blues note but then I was going to the Low E. It IS harder that way and so wrong. I watched the video of Rick playing with Edgar Winter and noticed I was WRONG.... for YEARS!! BTW....I think Rick sometimes played the F5 and G5 on the opening riff hammering his pinky on the 5th fret (F5) and 7th fret (G5) of the A and D string on the 3rd strum. Like a blues progression. Thanks man. Fantastic song. Definitely a departure from 65's hit "Hang on Sloopy". I liked that tune too though.

Nice video. Such a killer song. I thought it was Johnny Winter's song, but I digress. A cool rhythm guitar song would be Walk like an Egyptian written by Liam Sternberg and popularized by The Bangles, who are actually a pretty good band. Susanna Hoffs is a great singer and a solid rhythm guitar player. Despite the pop appeal of this song, this is actually a very fun song to play and to listen to. There's not much proper guitar in it but because the instruments are sequential you can do the bass line, rhythm git and keyboards pretty easily all on acoustic guitar Just a suggestion. Hope this helps. Keep up the good work.

I kinda know where Lee is coming from...but I wouldn't call it terrible. The song can be played in a simpler manner. I mean...Derringer is singing and playing at the same time so I'm pretty sure he's going to try to make his life a bit easier and employ the easiest method he can develop rather than be all over the place with chording and fingerings. I watched an early video of him playing the song and his approach differed a bit from this video, but hey, who knows? As long as it sounds good, right? I don't remember who recanted this story, might've been Bonamassa or Clapton, but a famous blues player legend picked up one of his guitars and asked him why he had such heavy guage strings on his guitar. The blues legend went on to give his advice and told him to get lighter strings and that the blues shouldn't be so much work. I kinda feel the same about the video...but I wouldn't call it "terrible". This dude is a good player. Also, that's a badass Strat.
