@norwegianearthmovers3 жыл бұрын
Hi Johnny!🙋♂️ Yes, I remember that you wrote that you preferred dust, but that this water made it interesting even so!😅 Oh yeah, water makes the job much tougher..😝😆 When the rock is under water like it was here, all fine materials in the rock is just washed away, so there are no dust and fines between the rocks.. The rocks completely jam when it’s washed away, so it gets so much harder to pull the material into the bucket!🤪😄 I was digging out a pump pit here, so I had to get to the bottom of the pile to get the pump in as deep as possible! Next, I had to empty the entire pit to make room for a new blast the same day, and didn’t have time to wait because of the time pressure..😅 Yes, all the rock we extracted here, was dumped at a depo for drainage and to dry up!😋 The cone crusher couldn’t handle wet rock, so the production team in this quarry planned on crushing this material during the next winter when it was dry!😊

Where did the water come from....................a spring or run off from a heavy rain ?? Did you finally get dug out enough to be able to pump water ? This is July 1 are you still on this project ? A fan here in the USA.
@norwegianearthmovers4 жыл бұрын
Well, this is ground water! 🙂 It is everywhere, somewhere almost up to the surface. When we blast pits like this, the rock cracks and water comes out, pushed up by ground and water pressure.🙉 Jepp, we got to pump it out, but now we have blasted deeper and are facing the same issue..😅 The pump is working on the level we loaded out in this video, we are 30 meters longer into the rock now, 2 meters deeper and still going down! Jepp, I'm going to be here even after summer, but hopefully we will get some work for my 390 after summer on another project after some weeks of holidays!😋

Thank you so much!🙏😁 Well, this was ground water, it is everywhere- at different level! When excavating or blasting, the water is just coming out of the ground, stabilizing on its natural level! When excavating deep pits, we always need to pump out water! This is done everywhere, in tunnels underpasses or in deep basements!🙂

Your loading the bucket in the blind (water) why not put a pump on to lower or remove the water level so you can see the bucket ?? Are buckets available with drain holes in the sides to at least allow some water drain off during boom lift and swing ??
@norwegianearthmovers4 жыл бұрын
I know and aggre, but right here we were loading out a pit for waterpumps! 😉 Can't pump before there's a hole to put the pump in!.. We had a pump another place, but higher, since the waterlevel had been 2 meters higher to begin with.😜 We are ramping down to a 15 meters lower level, when working downhill like this, it tends to be some water on the lowest level until we manage to start pumping the water out! Well, there is a lot of different tools, but if we have holes in the bucket here in Norway, the wear on the bucket will be much higher due to the high abrasive rock we have here.. Drain holes in the bucket would cause a lot of extra maintenance, i guess thats why no bucket designed in Norway has any holes! It's not regular with this much water either, so in some cases like this, it's just to feel the bucket when operating! 🤭😅 Thanks for watching and for sharing your thoughts! 🤗

Hi!🙋♂️ Thank you for enjoying it!🙏 So is it far back in time since you worked with this?🙂 Must admit that I don’t fully understand,, did you mean that you worked with bitment and not rock, or that this looked like it?🤭 Professional terms isn’t always easy to catch, since they seem to variate a lot..😅 Well, the pump was on its way, so we needed a hole to put it in.😄 This project was to ramp down a new road for a deeper cut, so we had to move the pump as we moved downwards! This hole was the deepest part at this moment, so I started in this corner so the pump could be placed there!😋 I didn’t have time to wait for the water to be pumped completely either, since we were going to set off a new blast later that afternoon.. Had to empty the pit, so the new blast had free way to go! 😅 Hard to blast uphill, and I did everything I could to prevent old rock from being in new rocks way!😄

They are equipped with a weight system, that warns me as a loader when maximum payload is reached with red and green indicator lights on both sides😋 the rock on this site turns out to be quite lite weight, since the crate is full long before the lights turns red..
