I have the same problems with the stock kit that came with my copy. Basic beats register, but anything that's complex or any drum rolls, it's horrible. There's a firmware update for the kit. I've heard that's helped some people. But others are still having problems.

If you don't like the auto fills you can turn them off in the options. Also, unfortunately you have to connect your drums to the PC to download a firmware update so that it helps with fast notes not registering. You can find more info just by googling RB4 firmware update.

+BoWLKuTT i tried doing that on 2 different pcs i downloaded them on both the one picked up the drums via bluetooth but it said error so i got pissed off and quit after 30 mins of trying to get the drums firmware upgraded then i tried it on another pc and bluetooth wouldn't even recognize the drums. Do you think they'll put something for the drums in the december patch or no?

I think I saw on some forums a while back ago where they're going to continue to revise and update the firmware updates based on community feedback. So hopefully it'll become more compatible with your setup.

They've been talking about updating the firmware (don't know if you heard about that or not) but MadCatz has a firmware fix for the dropping in the pads, while it helps a lot it's still not at all that responsive. I've been having some serious trouble with my Kick Pedal registering. Another thing I noticed is that this game doesn't seem to have the Velocity Sensor in the pads. Like in previous games a light hit would generate a softer sound and vice versa but this game is just one solid sound for every part, not sure if that's part of the problem or not but anywho I'm hoping they give out a fix for this. Great video man being able to play it with the problems the drums present awesome

Hey, I just wanted to throw this out there. There is a firmware update for the drums. You have to go to the MadCatz website and download it, so it will actually hit the notes properly. I don't know if you have done that yet, but I am just telling you in case you haven't done it yet. After I did the update, I haven't had a single problem with my drum kit. It works great now.

This game is such a letdown. Patches could fix this but did they have no one test this at all? Damn, this is disappointing. On the otherwise, nice CRT to record :P

It's more than likely a processing error. People on reddit have come to the conclusion that the velocity sensitivity of the pads is being misshapen into digital causing some serious lag. Of course, this isn't the only thing that has lag. Freestyle guitar solos have delayed strumming and vocals have delayed feedback. The game calibrates correctly, but the signals aren't being registered as analog. Also, The kick pedal has a certain duration that it has to be pressed in order for it to be counted as a kick. That's why those quick doubles didn't register right.

song was written on a 4 string, in fact the entire album was written on a tobias 4 string bass, john myung didnt need the 6 strings until awake, and he hardly uses the high c string on his sixer

Just bought Rock Band 4 and the drums have been terrible. They're constantly dropping notes randomly so getting 100% on anything is impossible. Seeing as you've gotten 100% you don't have the same problems. Is there anything I could do to fix the issue because it's really starting to frustrate me. Thanks!

I don't think it's an issue with the drums. The same thing happened to me a bunch of times, but it turned out I just wasn't used to the small lag, and I wasn't actually playing the drums to the beat of the song because of my frustration. You really just need to relax and practice, that's what I did, and now I can get 100% on lots of songs on hard.

I fixed my mine with a firmware update from madcatz, but you need a pc/laptop with bluetooth (with the latest drivers).

Actually, I found out that I didn't do a good job at calibrating the timing the first time around. I also discovered that IONs work on the PS4 version but not the XBOX One version. I'm a PlayStation guy so now I'm back in business!

bought an expensive hdmi cable, recal'd, and it fixed a lot of missed notes for me. the one that comes with the ps4 is garbage. good plays my dude. also, if you change to dynamic fills i think you can roll the cymbals or what have you instead of using static fills which are mundane.

You should really turn off Dynamic fills and keep it on Classic fills. Best way to play for sure, you get the _actual_ fills in the game. Whether or not the drums let you hit them.
