Good on you for posting another great video. I want to thank the the three of you for providing a wealth of invaluable knowledge and entertainment to the viewers. Cooking and serving fresh fish in such a simple way in my opinion is one of the best ways to enjoy eating them. Cheers, Fevzi

Hey, Awesome video! Im looking for some new rock fishing spots and I was wondering if you could catch king fish, bonito etc throwing xraps at that spot? Thanks !

EggyAzalea not this time of year unless you're very lucky. Water temp needs to be higher.

Eggy over the years fishing this ledge I've seen all species caught but fish this spot only in good conditions as many have gone for a swim hear. Remember if your not a strong swimmer don't fish the rocks. Regards Scotty & Paul

Enjoyed your video a lot and your other one fishing the rocks for bream with your dad Good to see a more traditional approach rather than fancy braid, expensive rods, reels, lures etc etc! Had a nice session on the rocks myself yesterday (near Cliffton). Kept it simple: one knot, running pea-sized ball sinker down to a size 2 hook, salted cooked prawns for bait (these work a treat and the heads form a steady but sparse berley trail) and ended up with three nice drummer and a 40 cm long and 25 cm deep six-spined leather jacket (it had a whole octopus as big as my hand in its stomach - never seen that before). Keeping it simple and staying mobile is how I like to fish and get consistent results. Now is drummer time, Scotty, so I expect a drummer video from you soon like your other one at Burning Palms which I've watched countless times. Keep up the great work!

Geez it must be 15 yrs maybe longer since i last ran into gary at the tackle show at Homebush ! Used to catch up with john from Alvey as well - he loved rock fishing ! I was going to pull you up for not wearing a life jacket but i saw your dad wearing one , not sure if you or brownie had one on though ! That ledge looks safe in flat seas like you had but what about if there is a bit of a bump out there ? Might be a time for a rock fishing safety video ?

Ian spot on mate its all about the areas you fish and when, local know how mate and not fishing if it's dangerous. The biggest problem we have if you can't swim don't fish the rocks full stop. Thanks again for your feed back mate. Regards Scotty & Paul

TheHookandTheCook The funny thing about the new lifejacket law is it allows you to wear a manually inflated jacket which won't help you one bit if you are unconcious ! I think most of the drownings that have occurred are because the person doesn't obey the first basic rule of rock fishing - stop and watch the ocean for 15 - 20 min before going out on the ledge . Anyhow I'm off to dust off my blackfish rod and hunt down some of those green weed flies i have heard about on hi tide !
