Rock Hounding at State Harbor in Whitefish Bay - Paradise, Michigan

We are finding beautiful rocks on the beach at Whitefish Bay at the State Harbor. We find Jasper, Unakite, epidote, feldspar, quartz, granite, agate, magnetite and many other beautiful stones and minerals. Finding rocks and minerals in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. About a mile south of Whitefish Point, the State Harbor beach is much quieter, with few people compared to Whitefish Point beach. When I was young you could still see some of the furnaces for melting ore. They were right on the lake and they emptied into Superior. That was in the 90s, so idk if they're still present. It was pretty cool though

I'm in California but know of the UP and it's Yooperlites. Do you ever find any agate?

We do, small ones. Lake Superior is by far the best for color and patterns. We have found some beautiful stones there.
