I had to remove the extractor and spring on my Baby Rock to get all the cosmoline out of it. That gun was caked in the stuff right out of the bag. I put all the parts in an old disposable pan and hit them with brake cleaner and a nylon brush. Worked like a champ. BTW, that extractor pin drifts out without much trouble. It went back in pretty tight with a few taps of the hammer. Don't think it'll be going anywhere, but I wouldn't make a habit of removing it as the video also stated.

I was having trouble getting the recoil spring reinstalled after I cleaned the gun for the first time. As soon as I saw how you did it is was AHAH! Thank you.

Great video Shawn. Not many manufacturers will show how to do a detail strip. Rock Island is the best. This makes number six for me.

This video was great. Just purchased a Baby Rock and was having problems getting the slide pin back in. I remember having issues with my Rock Island 1911 standard and this was a good refresher. Great job

Very helpful, could have a few close ups. It took me three tries before getting it correct, but chauk it up to old eyes and hands. Now that this baby is all cleaned and oiled it shoots much better. Thanks for the tutorial.

I do wish your video had more close ups and explained in better detail.

Just how far needed to disassemble to clean out "rust preventative" then lubricate?

The trigger pull on mine is 9 lb is this normal an the hammer is real hard to caulk. Did you give a excessively heavy batch of hammer Springs?

Picked mine up yesterday. Took it to the range today. Wishing I’d watched this video, first. I didn’t realize the lubricant was just a rust preventative. Shot some 125 rounds through without cleaning and lubing. Lesson learned late.

I just got The M1911A .380 pistol. It's real hard to load the magazine. Is there something I can do to make that step a bit easier?

Great Video! One comment, a close up next time on sear re-install would be nice. It is small and orientation is hard to pick up.

Do you really need to disassemble this far

You are the first to admit, out of maybe 10 videos and an e mail to the office (whom said it was not a blow back) that this is a blow back. Great video for that, and the best take down I have seen on this interesting type. Armscor gets a (-) for not being forthright about the blow back. I currently own 3 blow back types, Beretta 950, Beretta 81, Colt 1908 Type IV Hammerless, so it is not that I am fanatical about avoiding this type, however a 1911 baby should not be a "spring gun". If you do not tell the truth, then you do not deserve my money.

It would be nice to see exactly how the S/D go in. That's why I came here. I know the steps but to get something like that in correctly would take a little more detail and close-ups. Thanks.

Question is the baby rock 380 is certified in California
@ScottAT6 жыл бұрын
Is that using full size 1911 parts like hammer, sear, and safety? Could it be fitted with an ambidextrous safety?
@khmergodhobbies7 жыл бұрын
Will you be making these more available? I can't seem to find one for purchase.

Does anyone know of an ambi safety for the Baby Rock?

Good video, but could be better with close up shots of the small parts being reinstalled.
