Shot my new BBR .45 Auto and I was impressed with the shot grouping. It's controllable and the barrel ports keep you on target along with being very impressive looking in low light with the flash coming out of those vents. Since it's almost all metal I also didn't notice any difference between handling with a full magazine and nearly empty one. All in all I'm impressed; come on, it's a .45 Auto with a 3" barrel. It's definitely a pocket howitzer as I chuckled when cleaning the barrel as the bore diameter is nearly a quarter of the overall barrel length.

Great job of disassembly/reassembly! I’ve been thinking about purchasing one for the exact reasons you mentioned…camping, traveling etc. Very well instructed.

I'm glad it helped you. I've looked on youtube and have seen some major defects with this firearm. I've seen videos where the gun performed flawlessly and I've seen one where it blew out the barrel bushing. It's a cheap firearm in the world of 1911's but, that doesn't necessarily mean it's crap. I've heard many good things about this gun. I originally bought it for my brother and decided to do a video on it. That's the only reason I haven't fired it. Out in the woods or in the truck, this would be a welcomed sidekick.

My BBR 45 jammed all the time no matter what ammo I put thru it. Sent it back to the manufacture twice and finally I just gave up on it. I used it for my CC and needed more reliability due to the high crime areas i have to go into. Don't need something jamming in a gun fight. I already had to pull my weapon once this year at the scene of an accident where one party was threatening to shoot the other party and I did not feel the confidence I normally feel. Went back to a glock 19x until my new Springfield XDM Elite 45acp OSP came. Springfield restored my confidence.

See, my concern is the fact that the intense recoil would just make it hard to grip and get a hold of, which will lead to feeding issues. It’ll happen from time to time on my 1911 but I just adjust my grip and it’ll run just fine. Also polished the feed ramp so it runs better now, but an ultra compact in a big caliber like this, I can see why jamming would happen in your case. It might happen with mine if I bought one I’m sure

Most new guns require a break in period, especially a 1911 style of 300 rounds , maybe more and sometimes less,can’t expect a 100✨% from a new one, and if it is a used one, you don’t know if it has only 20 / or 100 rounds through it,most pistols do require a break in period to perform adequately , and some people don’t have the patience to do that 🤔🤷🏻♂️does not mean they are bad,had friends that complained about the same issues, and we had the same gun , they had new ones and mine was used ???? And the most important thing is to get and be familiar with the gun you have,or maybe your choice is not for you, some people can’t shoot semi autos period,but are excellent with revolvers or vice versa 🤔 And even if you don’t like revolvers or semi autos, I would tell my friends, that you might be in a situation that might be your only choice, and it’s better to get or have the ability to know about them just in case, and being able to adapt 🤷🏻♂️💥 Like Clint Eastwood , said A man has to know his limitations 😆🤣 or women,don’t want to forget about them too

I bought this gun just for cool factor, doubt it’s ever gonna make it in the edc rotation. Hopefully I got a decent one, haven’t been to the range with it yet. Maybe it can work for a backpack pistol.

The reason it's so difficult to assemble/disassemble is that particular action is designed to be done by a half a dozen tiny filipino hands all working in perfect unison. You should visit the Armscor factory some time. It's a charmed place of wonder where the magic happens and dreams are brought to life. Kind of like Willy Wonka's factory but with 1911s instead of fictional candy.

Bought mine November of last year. Fired 50 rounds for the first time 2 weeks ago. Tried to take it apart that day didn't realized I already got a reverse guide rod blow out (is that what you call it?). The slide wouldn't release coz of it. Bought a replacement guide rod kit from EGW and had it installed by a gunsmith and it's good to go, for now. Will test fire again next week.

Awesome review!! Have you tried to change out the sights? Thanks
@bluefalcon57432 жыл бұрын
No, I have not. I don't know if changing the sights on the ported version would be wise since the port is so close to the front sight. I may try painting it first to see what happens.
@davidvangorder50722 жыл бұрын
I was hoping to take both sights off and sand and polish the slide. I like the stainless steel look on the slide. The sights just get in the way and make the sanding difficult. Thanks again for your great review of the BBR 3.10
@bluefalcon57432 жыл бұрын
@@davidvangorder5072 For sure, man. You should think about having it cerakoted to a stainless steel color, unless you're looking for a polished look. I did the same thing with my P365XL and it turned out well. I might put a video on what I did to it and maybe it will give you some ideas. The only reason I would tell you not to strip the coating off of it is because the coating gives you a protective layer over the steel and helps preserve the weapon from rust. But, it's all in the eye of the beholder and if polished is what you're looking for, then polished is what it should be!
@edwardogomez29192 жыл бұрын
Don’t bother painting the front sight. I tried painting mine with high vis paint. Within 3 to 5 rounds it was totally black due to porting. What a waste of time and money

I understand you can get a mag for this gun that let's you get all fingers wrapped around it and that would be my only concern!. I think being a double stack that would allow for a better grip with my hands. I normally carry a sig sauer p938 9mm which is pretty much a mini 1911 and there are times I carry a full size 1911 do to the areas I have to go thru. So far every gun shop I've been too are sold out of these guns!.

Try Gunbroker.com if you don't mind paying shipping and transfer. As I said in the video, when it really comes down to these firearms, it's all in the eye of the beholder. This gun has it's uses, I, personally, just don't have a use for it.

really, blue falcon??? do you even know the meaning of that term? it amazes me watching people review a weapon that they aren't familiar with it. as far as concealing this weapon, I would disagree with you. I would much rather carry this concealed, which I do, than a full size or even an officers version of a 1911. not sure why you think this gun is harder to conceal carry than a LARGER weapon????????
@bluefalcon57432 жыл бұрын
It's a 1911 with a few changes. It's heavy and bulky compared to other, more modern, carry oriented pistols. It's an extremely old and dated design. Not saying it isn't a good pistol. For me, that's a truck gun. Yes, you can conceal it but, the gun will print. Apparently, I struck a nerve with you. It's ok to disagree, but don't get so bent out of shape over my opinion since it is only my opinion. For some, that's not that good of a carry. For others, it's perfect.

@@bluefalcon5743 1911 Old Dated, yea right, yet still one of the best, if not the best, keeps chugging along. What prints the most is a long hand-grip. Specially so when you bend over. Yea, slimmer is better, but in .45, you are limited to 5 round magazine with the same grip length with a single stack, 1911 or striker fired. Which is roughly 4.5 inches. Full grip is over 5 inches. So yea a bit heavier, more rounds, no plastic. Heavy enough if you run out of rounds, clock em in the head with it. Like the old army guys did, in ww1, Philippians 1930's, ww2, Korea, Vietnam, Central America. New plastic crap not so good for clocking em in the head. So yea, everything has advantages & disadvantages. Yet the BBR is one of the better CC. If you do not like it you could fork out the bucks for the Para Ordnance Warthog. Which the BBR is based off of. Not many 10 round 1911, or anything else for that matter in the smaller size available. Can also do 13 or 14 round magazine for the BBR. Get the longer grip with more rounds. Everyone has an opinion. Some from experience.
