The information that you have retained on all of these bands is amazing Scotty. Have to agree with you on everything that you said about the new Purple. I do not listen to many seventies rock bands nowadays. But Deep Purple is one of the bands who I try to keep up with. I have been a fan of Gillan for a longtime. He shines as does the band on this new release. The video for Lazy Sod was done well too. The new guitar player has a tone that reminds me of Blackmore. Did not know that you listened to Frampton. One of the memorable summers for concerts was 1976. I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd as a backup to Jeff Beck and Frampton doing Comes Alive a few weeks later at the same venue. The gone but never forgotten Cape Cod Coliseum. Every show was general admission to boot! The only downside was no AC. The place was a sweatbox. Thanks Scotty. Another excellent R&MVU~ Rob/Boston

Sorry it took so long to respond. I went on vacation in the mountains of Flagstaff. NO SERVICE! It was nice to unplug for a spell. The new DP is probably their best in two decades, and that is saying alot as their recent albums have all been pretty good. I never got to see Frampton live. However, he's still out there doing his thing so maybe it's not too late.

Great band! Like I said in the video, looks like a few will be reissued this year so don't pay premium prices yet.

Hi Scott!!! awesome update as always and cool to see you're really enjoying the new Purple album with Simon McBride a very cool guitar player..... I think it has to be the first time i have ever seeing any Ancillotti record, i discover the previous band Strana Officina and love it!!! but with a very tragic story too..... but it's cool to hear how the family tradition kept them going on. cheers and be well

Nice score on that OG Port Royal! Running Wild LPs don't show up in the wild too often. I'm not usually into re recordings of bands classic albums, But the Cavalera bros did a great job on those. Also have heard nothing but good things on the new Deep Purple album.
@nolifetilmetal13 ай бұрын
Hello brother. Yes, that Running Wild was a nice find. Not something I expected to find in a little record store in Albuquerque. I am loving the new Deep Purple. Solid album from them.

Agree on the Deep Purple. Wasn't even planning on getting in until I heard the first single. May be my favorite since "Abandon". I'll be seeing them on the 19th with Yes as well.

Nice. I've not met many people who care about Peter. I get that he was a 70's 'teen idol' in a wig, but the dude was a great guitar player, song writer and one of the original members of Humble Pie.

I just got that crossing the bones on yellow vinyl and just played it today The stutter cover was kinda strange but I liked it

It is a bit odd but I like that they attempted to make the song their own rather than make it just a boring cover.

Max and Igor did a spectacular job re-recording the Sepultura album. I like the original but as you say the recording isn’t the greatest. I really need to pick up some more UFO as up till now only have a live album. Top class Japanese pressings too.😀🤘

Haha! Exactly! Enjoy the music for what it is. Same thing with Ted Nugent and any other rocker who is outspoken and people seem to hate. You can enjoy the music even if the artist isn't someone you would like personally.

I love Frampton! According to my parents, as a toddler I would ‘get down’ to the Frampton Comes Alive! everytime my father put it on the turntable. Those early Humble Pie albums are tough to find now, both on cd and vinyl. I’ve been searching, too.

Sorry it took so long to respond. I went on vacation in the mountains of Flagstaff. NO SERVICE! It was nice to unplug for a spell. Yes, I've been after those first two Humble Pie albums for a while. They all seem to be in crappy shape and are overpriced! Needs a reissue. And Frampton Comes Alive is simply one of the best live albums ever!
@slowneutron61634 ай бұрын
The only good song on Rising Force is 'Now Your Ships Are Burned'. The rest of the album, and Malmsteen's career, is just a technical lesson in scales. For all the talent that he has, he has got to be the most boring shredder that ever lived. Holdworth, too. Both could shred, neither could write.
@nolifetilmetal13 ай бұрын
I enjoy the entire Rising Force album, as well as the two follow-up albums. I do agree that his songwriting leaves a bit to be desired and "shred" seems to be more important that writing memorable songs.
