Dimash is to voice what Michelangelo is to art. The world does not have a recorded artist that has ever been as capable in all forms of vocal interpretation. As a Doctor of musical arts and science, it is my humble opinion that Dimash is a gift long-awaited and in need by the world. Aware or not, Dimash is far more than an entertainer, he is a healer for those in desperate need of reconnection. Perfect resonance, perfect balance in an unbalanced world.

Although it’s a studio version, it was live streamed to the Tokyo Jazz Festival on 28th November 2021. The reason he had the lyrics was because this was the first time he ever sang in Japanese and I think he may have had difficulty with that phrase! Apparently, his Japanese was perfect! The lyric writer of the song tweeted that he had never heard a foreigner sing so beautifully in Japanese.

A Japanese friend of mine tells me that Dimash [who is from Kazakhstan, and normally speaks Kazakh or Russian] sings this Japanese song with almost perfect pronunciation, with only a faint hint of an accent. Most important, he seems to understand the emotional subtleties of the Japanese lyrics. The song dates from the 1970s in Japan, and "Itanaide" means "stay" or "don't go"...

Please don’t go Please don’t go Stay with me forever Verse 2 Someday…..my heart will …..someday… Be somewhere far away Everything will remain only as a memory Though it’s better not to know It’s better not to know Ikanaide was used as the title song for a 1989 TV series "Farewell, Lixianglan" co-produced by China and Japan, about a Japanese actress Yoshiko Yamaguchi (12 Feb 1920 - 7 Sept 2014) who was born in China. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li Xianglan. She became famous in China during World War II. However, once the war was over and her identity was revealed, she was accused of being a spy and was deported to Japan. She didn't return to China for many years. Ms Yamaguchi did return to China in her later years as the Japanese Parliamentary Vice Minister of Environment. This song is saying goodbye to her Chinese name Li Xianglan. It is also a metaphor, as the lyrics speak of how a person has to hide what she feels inside. In 1993, Hong Kong singer Jacky Cheung adapted it into Mandarin with the meaning of the song different from that of the original. He called it Late Autumn. In 2004 the Taiwanese singer and Dimash's friend, Terry Lin, adapted the song into a new Mandarin version entitled "Autumn Strong”. Dimash performed the Terry Lin version (Autumn Strong) when he participated in the 2017 The Singer competition in China. He sang it in Episode 4 of the competition and it was his first time singing in Mandarin. Regarding Dimash’s Japanese performance, a Japanese reactor said that Dimash’s pronunciation was perfect. It was as good as a native speaker’s. It shows how much of a perfectionist Dimash is and how many hours he must have spent on his pronunciation and delivery. In addition, Goro Matsui, who wrote the lyrics to “Ikanaide” praised Dimash’s performance and said: “I’ve heard ‘Ikanaide’ sung by foreign singers in their native language many times. Even though they all sing great, none of them seemed to quite capture the sound/reverberation and meaning of the original lyrics and perceive the emotions between the lines. In this song, the phrase ~ Ah, ikanaide~ is repeated several times in the chorus. Although they are the same exact words, each line has a different meaning. “But this is the first time anyone has sung it so beautifully in Japanese. I happened to find Dimash singing “Ikanaide” by chance. The first thing that surprised me was his crystal clear tone and his expressive voice that conveys the lyrics of the song.”

You also need to know that Dimash is singing in Japanese for the first time in this video. He sang this song on "The Singer"- but it was in Mandarin Chinese (he doesn't speak either language) about 5-6 years ago. So the vowels of the words are different in each language. If you watch the earlier version- you will know just how much Dimash has been working on his craft- even during the pandemic. He just gets better and better - with much MORE control. I have been a dear for 5 years and I would rather listen to him than anyone else. His voice calms me- I am a caretaker for my bedridden husband who is on hospice (Parkinsons due to agent orange in Vietnam) What a God given talent he has and so humble! Enjoy your journey- he will not disappoint!

The original version was Japanese which Dimash obviously does here Ikanaide. Dimash first covered the Chinese version in Mandarin (Autumn Strong/Late Autumn) in the 2017 Chinese competition show I Am Singer.

A masterful, powerhouse of a performance. No one comes close to Dimash. Singing Japanese for the first time ‘please don’t go’. It’s the first time he’s sung in Japanese and he learnt the song phonetically. So appreciated your remarks on Ikanaide. It has been said that Dimash sings at a vibrational level that not everybody is attuned to. So many of his fans find his music often healing. I feel you, I literally cannot relate to people who don't find Dimash incredible. Like, I think a lot of it is close-mindedness, perhaps because he foreign or it's not in english etc. or maybe they're just embarrassed to admit they like him for whatever reason, or they just need time to process. Dimash can be overwhelming for some people, maybe their brain can't comprehend it right away because it seems fake if you don't know any better. In my opinion our western culture has made unusual some things that once were normal. We need fast and simple and easy and quick to classify and judge. We have lost the ability and the will to grasp complexity, versatility. And the ability to just live an experience with all our senses without judging. I feel lucky I am not affected that much and I feel blessed to still be able to experience Dimash. He is a universe. There are so many levels, so many dimensions. I am thankful of being able to witness the art of one of the greatest of our time.

This is a good variety of songs which will show you more of his vocal capabilities which is way beyond singing in falsetto as you already mentioned. Dimash doesn't always sings in falsetto 😅 Your friend should listen to Durdaraz (folk-rock) or Samaltau (Kazakh folk) It would be fun ! Dimash sings many genres: pop, rock, folk, crossover, opera and even raps. There are songs for everyone 👍🏻

Otra joya musical del extraordinario Dimash. En el estudio muchos utilizan el atrio como articulo de decoracion otros por seguridad. It was the first time he ever sang in Japanese. It may not be the last but from what the Japanese people said, it was perfect. There are performances he does that are so relaxing, so healing to the body that it is incredible. Ave Maria, A Thousand Miles a, Common Friend, for examples. Then he can switch and do rockish style, Kieli Meken, Duduraz, Golden for starters. Still one of his best is Sinful Passion.

Y me agradó que mencionara el detalle de que él mira el atril, viendo, seguramente la letra de esta hermosa canción, pues yo igual lo observé y pensé cuando la ví. Y es que no es para menos, la está interpretando desde estudio para el Festival Tokio Jazz de 2021, y lo hace en japonés. Fue en noviembre de 2021, y para ese momento él estaba en China. Me parece una interpretación magistral, dulce, penetrante, con un profundo sentimiento, ante la cual ni siquiera importa entender lo que dice, pues nos llega igualmente a lo más profundo, con su canto e interpretación. Toda una clase maestra. Son muuuuchas las canciones que podemos sugerir, y veo que ya le han mencionado algunas, y si, para su amigo que le aburre todo en falsete, Dimash tiene de todo, pop, ópera, mezcla estos dos de una forma única y hace magia. Así agrego Olímpico, Adagio (Singer 2017), Sinfull passion (en el Kremlin), Mademoiselle Hyde, Stranger (en Shine Super Brothers), Your love, Give me love....cover de Show must go (Singer 2017), Golden, Screaming (China 2021), y muchas, muchas más. No sé arrepentirá de ver y escuchar. Pura vida🇨🇷❤️🇰🇿

I am 73 and have been a "dear" since I first heard him sing SOS on Singer. Totally sold out to this young man with his abilities to evoke emotions and send our hearts and souls soaring. I understand what you say about your friend who isn't bothered that much about Dimash. My partner doesn't get him either (and in fact is actively against him). A person I know who is in the music business only uses Dimash's performances as a springboard to talk about himself, as if he (the friend) is somehow better or was the first to do what Dimash does (he isn't and he wasn't). I actually find the comparison unbearable. Dimash is light years above anyone else. Some people simply cannot understand what you instinctively understood from the first song you reacted to. In those who 'get it', there is an instant connection to the emotions in Dimash's voice and to the special energy he brings to each performance. Something within us resonates with it. Those who don't 'get it' straight away may never get it even with repeated listenings because they aren't in the right place in their lives. But it really doesn't matter. We simply have to let that go. It can't be forced. I think the most important thing is to share Dimash with as many people as possible so that those who ARE open to it get the opportunity to receive his magic. His voice draws out deeply held emotions, generates awe and wonder and uplifts the spirit. It is very healing. One reactor said 'He has changed my life and made me a better person'. He does that to a lot of people. IMHO this guy is a special gift to the world. Strongdad thank you for your thoughtful and heartfelt reaction. I'm looking forward to seeing many more reactions to our dear Dimash.

Thank you for your reaction. This is my favorite Dimash performance. I just love the emotion!!!! I have recently learned that not all people actually "feel" the music. I am sad for them, but I always thought everyone actually feels music in their bodies. I have learned that is not the case. This is probably why your friend doesn't feel the same as you. For those of us who are luck to actually feel the music in our bones, we will continue to be in awe of Dimash and his talents.
