News of his death wasn't made publically known till about 3 1/2 weeks later out of respect from.his family and former bandmates. His passing wasn't broadcasted till late January

Dave Greenfield was probably one of the best rock keyboardist from the UK, the equal of Tony Banks -Genesis and Jon Lord - Deep Purple and not that far behind Rick Wakeman. Check out some of his work with The Stranglers from 1977 - Especially Dagenham Dave, the closing part of Down in the Sewer, full length 6m 21s cover of Walk on By and Duchess. Oh and Golden Brown to name but a few.
