For instance, if one is simply the getaway driver in a robbery gone wrong and someone gets killed the driver is likely getting a murder charged tacked on as well.

First, prosecutors may have offered him a lesser charge to secure the plea deal, avoiding the cost of a trial - he still gets 20-32 years, his incentive being to avoid life without parole. Second, he may not have been the one who actually threw the brick that killed the victim, in which case one of the others deserves the murder charge. Just a guess.

This happened to me in 1990. 3 punks on an overpass on hwy 59 in Houston were tossing 15 pound metal bolts at the cars at 3 am on the highway as we were driving. It was a pedestrian bridge, and one went through my windshield and hit the passenger side right as I was changing lanes. The bolt went through the seat and the floorboard and left a hole...sounded like a shotgun. Had I not changed lanes at that time it would have gone through me. The punks also hit 4 other cars and 2 were killed. I pulled over and saw those kids laughing up there, about 40 feet in the air, then a guy who was hit stopped his truck, pulled out his pistol and fired at all of them as they ran. I don't know if he hit anyone...i tried to find out but was unable as my fuel line was leaking. That pedestrian bridge also had a chain link fence on both sides so they had to have been sitting on top of the thing chunking these bolts. I never could find out if they were caught or what the outcome was on anyone else...except that 2 were killed.

I love how with murder 18 is a teen Everywhere else, 18 is a grown man who can serve and die for his country and can vote. I doubt any of these men would die for their country or vote in an election.

They took a young woman's life. She's gone permanently, forever. These poor excuses of humans will only be in their 40s when they are released and get to continue their lives probably living a few more decades. She doesn't get to. They really don't deserve to see another free day.

Absolutely sickening that they will ALL get plea deals and not ALL be charged with murder !!!!!!!!! Our legal system needs a serious overhaul.
