I remember seating on dirt listening James Taylor in the Rock in Rio 1985 where more than 250,000 people were flying high with this song. I was 20 ft away from stage and could see his expression showing being surprised with so many Brazilian fans singing all together. He didn't expect that. That night he took a shot of new energy to keep his career going. I will never forget that night where I had my best friend with me enjoying the show but he's no longer among us. Bravo Sir James Taylor!!!! We love you

However you still feel that little shot of satisfaction writing the song gave you when you first wrote it, then it still a joy to do. Discovered this masterpiece in the '70s. During the long, sweltering hot, wonderful summer of '76. (in England) Aged 7&a1/2. My Dad had an old compilation tape, in the player of his hifi. Amongst others, it had, in a row, three Beatles tracks, then Bad Moon Risin' ... Then this. For nearly 17 minutes, during these 5 tracks, I thought I'd died and gone to Heaven!!! I asked Dad about this track, he told me about it, and I've been a fan of JT for nearly 45 years. Music doesn't get any better...

This was truly beautiful! I wish he could have performed it with his first band with Leland Sklar, Russ Kunkel, and the other members of the Section... What a great man and musician. I’m so thankful that he was able to kick heroin after nearly a 15 year addiction. There’s only around 5% that can say that they kicked it. God bless James, and the band that got him to where he is today.

Love this man and his music; something in me made me long to hear just one word among his many thankyou tributes - about Carly Simon. They were a couple who perhaps rather too briefly and ultimately painfully - but in their 20s they knitted together to mutual creativity. Sure each then went on their way in life and in creativity....and the rest....so that's my piece....just a twinge of sadness that James didn't just say her name.
