The real answer is that earlier in the show they got a request to give a shout out to a couple who listened to XFM. The boy wanted them to ask the girl out on a date to see X Men 2, and Ricky was supposed to ask for him. But Ricky didn't remember or write down their names so he basically messed the whole shout out up. He was trying to salvage it again here but Steve was just telling him to shut up and move on.

Where did you get that from?! Ricky had attempted to do some shout outs/requests for listeners but forgot pretty much all the important points.
