This is one of the first C8 Corvettes, VIN 3085. It has 60,000 miles, is it holding up?

Yes Thankyou. The no spoiler makes it look much more exotic. The spoiler also adds so much drag and slows the car down. Great video.

Love your story and glad to hear you love your C8 and it's treating you well. Would love a video running down what kind of maintenance you have done, including tires.
@rockcityfilms3 ай бұрын
There was no maintenance outside of what was scheduled. As for tires, the tire and wheel warranty took care of all flats, of which there were about 5.
@tonyadamis41713 ай бұрын
@@rockcityfilms Man, you cannot do better than scheduled maintenance for 60,000 miles. That hasn’t exactly been a given in the Corvette line. Thanks for the answer.

Just curious, how did you end up with 5 flats?

I'm happy that you're happy 😊. It just goes to show if you take care of your belongs, they last longer, but 60K is barely broken in.

Nice video. One question: Did you remove the front Corvette logo? Or did you order without it? Was that possible? OK, three questions. LOL.😀
@rockcityfilms3 ай бұрын
When I had some scratches repaired at the Chevrolet body shop, they didn't put the logo back.They suggested it looked better without it and I agreed

@@rockcityfilms a lot of people don't like the squircle steering wheel or the wall between the passenger and the driver, especially with the HVAC column.

Interior is garbage.
@rockcityfilms3 ай бұрын
The interior has been universally praised, and looks good even compared to European supercars. There is no plastic, the build looks and feels high quality. I've never been bothered by the steering wheel. I like that the top of it doesn't stick up into my vision. As for the bar down the center, I find it convenient, although it is a little quirky, I can reach out with my right hand and make adjustments to the climate control without having to look at the buttons.

Not sure what world you’re living in. For ANY car, 60,000 miles is VERY low mileage. I wouldn’t expect to see any physical wear, even on the cheapest cars at that mileage if taken care of properly. In addition to that, your car is only about 4 years old, which is practically new. I’ve owned and been around MANY cars that were 20+ years old with over 100,000 miles, that looked and drove like NEW because of proper maintenance. As someone who’s been around many “proper” classic cars, your claim is absolutely laughable. A car that shows signs of wear at 60,000 miles and 4 years old, has been abused and/or neglected to some degree. That mileage on a vehicles drivetrain is nearly NOTHING. It would have to be a very poorly engineered car to have problems with such little use. Other than that, it’s just a Chevy... meaning you most likely WILL have plenty of issues if you keep it long enough. You will certainly have major transmission issues at some point as all Chevys do, and major corrosion will be a huge risk. Numerous electrical faults would also be expected. Rust is a big concern for any American car, including Chevys, because of how poorly they are protected from the elements. This is a huge risk in your climate if you drive it in the winter. Overall, American cars are very cheaply made, and modern ones are designed to be leased, not bought. They usually start falling apart right after the warranty expires literally... by design. They are the most poorly made vehicles available in the US. Most failure prone items will fail long before they would on a foreign car. The goal of these companies is to get you to keep buying new cars or trap you into constantly leasing them. All they care about is profit and NOT about the quality of their product. Ford is the absolute WORST, but Chevy isn’t far behind. Your car isn’t any better than other Chevy models in this regard. Even then, it’s just a corvette. It will never have the character or beauty of a Ferrari, and certainly doesn’t drive like one. Of course, you’re paying for that though. If I were you, I’d just keep it maintained and cared for, until you start having major issues. After that, get rid of it because the problems WON’T end as long as you own it.

I expect 60,000 miles on a Ferrari would be an expensive and frustrating investment
@ericervin47783 ай бұрын
??????? WTF are you talking about? First of all, average mileage is 12K a year. This Vette is well over the average yearly mileage. Secondly, there's been some talk about C8 not being reliable and poor build quality. So, this C8 owner simply posted a video of his C8 still doing fine after 4 years and 60K miles. And lastly, in this day and age, American cars are not the only ones that are cheaply made.
