@@bobthepoppop he worked with PAUL MCCARTNEY ON THE SONG! He made the melody and Kanye just kinda went "uhuh uhuh" and turned it into what you hear. In the original audio version theres recording of Paul whistling and playing guitar at the end. The performance actually has like EVERYONE relevant in the UK Rap scene behind Kanye. It was insane that they got all those rappers on stage together. The orignal demo even has a verse with KENDRICK and 2 Chainz. 😭 That version is even better imo you need to listen to Kendrick Lamar. Greatest rapper of the last 10 years. Section 80 is a great album that basically talks about the crack epidemic of the 80s and Reagan, its a bit of a concept album. Kanye once revealed that over one summer Kendrick and him recorded 40 songs together.

By the time your done with Kanye's discography and maybe some interviews your whole perspective on Kanye will change. We don't even realise the effect media has on us, I realised that when I had formed opinions on people I knew nothing about.

You know this performance is legendary when Bono from U2 praises it
@JZUSKASO
@JZUSKASO 3 жыл бұрын
For his 60th birthday, U2 frontman Bono curated a list of “60 Songs That Saved My Life”. As part of the project, he penned individual letters to each of the artists behind his songs of choice. Among those receiving the a handwritten note from Bono was Kanye West, whose Yeezus cut “Black Skinhead” sounded like nothing [Bono had] ever heard before.”Bono was actually in the SNL house the night “Black Skinhead” debuted in 2013. “I was a hundred feet away from your feet,” the letter begins. “Your eyes were shut so as not to be distracted from the words you had just written around the corner.”The letter quotes some favorite lyrics, and suggests that with this performance, “It felt like hip hop wanted the black leather jacket back from rock ‘n roll…. and the rock ‘n roll silhouette too.” Bono waxes poetical about Kanye as a “punk Othello,” and the moment he realized “I was about to get musically kicked in the head.” In conclusion, he called the song, “The soundtrack of terror, but I wasn’t afraid… I was relieved somebody was fearless.” Read Bono’s full letter and relive the iconic SNL performance below.

I have to admit that I like Kanye with a massive ego. He hammers with a massive ego. One thing that has somewhat surprised me during this hip-hop journey is that hip-hop artists haven't been screaming their lungs out like they should be. Hip-hop could learn a wee bit from hard rock. Fuckin' yell, man. Yell and scream and yell some more. Scream until the sky falls and the world is forced to listen.

You are my favorite react channel right now. You bring a lot of insight and knowledge to music I've heard a million times already. Keep up the great work and the consistency is amazing despite KZbin robbing you. Eventually, and no rush, I recommend To Pimp A Butterfly (Album) by Kendrick Lamar from start to finish. Maybe even a 3 part series just for that album alone, seeing as I know you like to dive deep in the meaning of the lyrics. It is my #1 album of all time. I started listening to rap at age 6 (now 27) when my uncle gave me a radio and a cassette with Dr Dre, Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg. It is an amazing piece of art despite the majority of Kendrick's fan base disliking it. It was the first time Kendrick Lamar gave listeners a different sound while portraying a deep message. PS: Sorry for the 'essay sized' comment.
@bobthepoppop
@bobthepoppop 3 жыл бұрын
Essay comments are always welcome, sir. Always. I'm really looking forward to doing more Kendrick Lamar. I felt like Section 80 was really strong, and that was his first major album (as far as I understand). I've heard from friends at work that Kendrick is a hell of a writer, which is something I really appreciate.

@@bobthepoppop yes, thank you for the reply. Going in chronological order is best I think to see his evolution as an artist and as a man (I won't spoil further). I just think that To Pimp A Butterfly is an album where your eyes will open up in shock of where Hip Hop as a genre can go.

@@kyele8501 You are mistaken. Originally upon the albums release fans had a disliking to it saying it had too much jazz and that he wasn't rapping enough. Travis Scott: Rodeo for next album reaction. Some background on Travis, he is Kanye's protege and has been really close with kanye ever since they meet and in 2013, he opened up for Kanye's Yeezus tour along side Kendrick Lamar, but over the past few years has become a superstar and a house hold name in the rap/trap game mostly because of his sound with auto tune, his amazing production and his amazing live performances. His real blow up and what brought him to that superstar/rockstar status came from when he dropped his album rodeo in 2015 and is argued to be one of and if not the best trap album ever and since then hasn't stopped and only has gotten bigger.

awesome reactions, Bob! i esp. loved when you caught yourself during the college dropout video re: duality of human behavior (not letting a trite song take anything away from the emotional messages in other songs). couple things you might find interesting: 1. there was a "guerilla" style promotion of yeezus via projection of his video (new slaves) onto the facades of luxury stores, globally. 2. the song "i am a god" was a response to a fashion designer trying to force kanye not to attend anyone's show but his... i might be slightly off, but just wanted to throw that out there because YEEZUS is such a great album...

Please react to "Chiraq" by Montana of 300. I heard you say you like aggression. This is pure aggression, bars, and metaphors for 5 straight minutes. No hook. You will be AMAZED. He's independent and probably the best rapper I've ever heard 🔥

A rap artist that is known for screaming and being very emotional with his music is XXXTENTACION. He past away a few years ago but has a lot of good music. However, if you react to his music be prepared for a whole nother fan base to swarm in. XXXTENTACION's fan base is very strong similar to Kanye's
