FIRST REACTION: Greta Van Fleet - When the Curtain Falls

A little overdue and filled with a little bit of ranting, but here is my opinion of the new song by my friends in Greta Van Fleet.

I'm 23. I love Greta van fleet. And zeppelin is my fav band of all time so i don't mind that GVF sounds like them somewhat

I honestly love them. I feel like the only people who hate on them are the ones who have only heard highway tune, or safari song. Those 2 do sound a lot like zeppelin, but that's fine with me. They just have so many great songs already that honestly don't remind me of any existing artists. When I hear edge of darkness, or talk on the street I only think of Greta van fleet. People should just be happy that a new rocl band is getting so much attention this quick. I can't wait to hear the new album!!!

I love Led Zep and I love GVF. I don't get all those people that complain about them. It's like Kobe Bryant. He's one of my favorite basketball players of all time. He was influenced and copied Michael Jordan and look at the career that he had. 5 time champion and will be a first ballot hall of famer. So if GVF ends up having a phenomenal career like Kobe by being influenced by somebody great, so what!

Great point of view. I have been really excited about this band since stumbling upon them last year. Very familiar, yet new and refreshing music. Yeas, there is some Zeppelin influence but I also feel some Black Crowes and RUSH and AC/DC but most importantly just Greta Van Fleet. This band is its own band. I love these ‘kids’ as well you - they are so humble and down to earth it makes you appreciate them more and want them to be successful minus all the usual rock and roll cliches. Met them in Baltimore and they are just real good dudes. I have been a Led Head since I was 12. Zeppelin ended in 1980 people. Give these kids a chance - they will not disappoint!

I haven't seen you in awhile, liked your views on Greta van fleet, I love them too, I could see that they were talented from day one, and yes I am an old Zeppelin fan. I think my favorite song is watching over, but love them all

So far I'm enjoying the song, but my true test for a song is if I start to skip it on Pandora, autoplay, etc. after a few weeks. Haven't skipped it yet though.

"MANY HOURS LATER..." I lol'd. As for the song... it's actually a great song. It's very well crafted and catchy, while telling an interesting story. The video is beautiful too. They took a big step up with this, IMO. Listen to Sam's bass in the middle part of the verses. It's getting more like John Paul Jones... and that's a good thing. GVF will never be Led Zeppelin. They also won't be Cream, the Beatles, Rush, or anybody else. What they will be is a damn good rock band with strong influences from a lot of those old greats. How do I know? Because they already are.

Rolling Stones greatest rock band of all time! Love the shirt! Of course GVF is awesome and talented if people can't see it and are still hung up on the Led Zeppelin thing they are narrow minded fools anyway. I'm sick of hearing the stupid comparison it's old now. Either take them for what they are or get over it already. When I listen to GVF I never think of LZ or vise versa. That being said I'm looking forward to new material from them. When I first heard of them last year I was listening to them almost daily, but I really haven't listened in a while. With the exception of VALE I really haven't gotten into any new music recently. But I understand working full time and busy with our lives most us don't have a lot of time. Which is why channels like this are so important for keeping up.
