I recently had my *rocket-powered showdown* to unlock G4 ... defeated the dragon solo, Prowler mode, but it did take a full 30 minutes. Best highlight: Valstrax begins his round-the-world attack right after knocking me out, and my cat is JUST about to finish the revival animation when Valstrax slams down. If I'd revived half a second faster, it would have been a back-to-back KO. 2nd best highlight: Valstrax's first move in the hunt was his round-the-world attack.

@@reavercorp4863 No, the Bherna Gal at some point ACTUALLY says something to the effect of "Most hunters would just tell you to 'git gud', but that doesn't seem nice!". And also, quick rundown. No walking while healing. Pickaxes and nets are a limited resource. Don't forget those Hunter Arts, because then you'll have to run back to the prep area. No grappling hook. Sad, but true.

Thanks for the tips! And yeah, I know it’s most common to get the “tough it out” answer, and in most cases I do understand, I mentioned DS earlier because I’ve loved the series since Demon Souls. I just feel like with Mh especially there’s a finesse to the game. I’ve tremendously enjoyed World but I’m concerned that getting past the switch’s Joy Cons might be a bit much for me personally, along with the obvious back track in a few QoL situations like the grappling hook. Which is why I think Cotton’s opinions might be super helpful, considering he started on World and now is holding his own really well in GU

@@reavercorp4863 "Holding his own" Specifically, his severed head but yeah, sure, whatever you say. Oh, and depending on your playstyle, your Style could be vastly different. Guild's for beginners, Striker is for people who like spamming arts, Valor is seen above, Adept is for people who can time attacks well (my style), Aerial is for jumping on ALL THE THINGS, and Alchemy is for supporting your friends. Just... never go Valor Charge Blade. Never.

I'm an adept hammer user which is nice since 90% I'm staring the monster in the face and most of it's attacks are coming from there so it's nice to have that get out of jail free card, not to mention you can store a adept counter with hammers to better aim it

So I got MHGU recently and I’ve been getting bodied left and right, in five hours I had only beaten velocidrome and great maccao. It was at that point I realized, I was doing multiplayer quests the entire time! Turns out I’m not bad and could solo multiplayer velocidrome with starter equipment.

Cotton, I dont know if you know it already, but in case you dont, you can stack the effects of other Oils into Chaos Oil basically this is the breakdown, Ill only list Chaos Oil 2 and 3 cause Chaos Oil 2 is exactly the same as 1 but last longer breakdown will be like this, the colum is the level the stat it affects and what it becomes with the corespoding Oil, like this +15%~30% where +15% is the effect of chaos oil and +30% is after using affinity Oil, Mind Oil is a bit diferent, since Chaos Oil gives you the Minds Eye skill efect the Minds Eye Oil gives you sharpness, Ill only note how many units of Sharpness it gives you, do note, normally the animation for applying oil is faster than the sharpenning animation Chaos Oil LV2 (180 sec) LV3 (120 sec) - Affinity +15%~+30% +30%~+60% - Part Breaker 1.1x~1.2x 1.15x~1.3x - Exhaust Exhaust 5~10 Exhaust 8~14 Stun 4~8 Stun 7~12 - Minds Eye 100 Units 120 units thanks gaijin hunter for this info

You should see the rustrazor Longsword you literally tore its arm off and use it as a weapon. Also the valstrax armor is what I use for my LS build. Dragonheart+crisis+atk up L = every monster dead

Fun fact about Nightcloak, it'll prioritize stealing healing items if you have any. I believe that it also goes for the higher rarity healing items first.

Melynx will target Felvine first, if you don't have any it's random. Gypceros tend to steal Well-Done Steak first, then goes random. Chameleos steals things at random. Nightcloak will almost always take health items first until you run out, then it takes randomly as well.
