for once i would like to see what kind of espresso all these machines make when you use the single filter with the single portafilter. All tests are done with the double filter for a reason.

Small tray and water tank seems designed for plan B , you will be busy if make 2 more cups a day. So...DO recommend plumbing and get it drain to down pipes, also take an extra tray to catch water every brush cleaning, Silvia same problem. 4 years ownership 1500-2000 cups per year home use. Very quiet and reliable. Not serviced yet, only steam noob leaking drops while bubbling milk. One more : I like the steam power from Silvia better. $2000+ upgrade only for not wake my baby up, otherwise stay Silvia for home use and take a long family vacation with $2k

Yes and no. If you leave the portafilter out when heating and it gets hot for too long, you will have to flush. If you leave the portafilter in, that is actually part of a "system" and it will not need a flush. Yes I own one. Yes I've tried it both ways.

@@iDrinkCoffeeCanada I’m looking to upgrade to this machine from sage barista touch I haven’t done enough research,is it a decent choice as an upgrade here? What can expect from swapping these machines?

@@pawelgedyk1762 This is a different style of machine than the Barista Touch. The Rocket has a heat exchanger boiler. It will have better steaming power than the Breville/Sage. It has an E61 group head which offers great temperature stability too, however, I don't think that going to the Giotto is a huge upgrade over the Sage. A double boiler with temperature control over both boilers would be a bigger step, a machine like the ECM Synchronika.

@@iDrinkCoffeeCanada I just realised since 95% of time I drink americano and espresso is it actually worth upgrading? I’ve been looking to get more consistent tasteful shots but maybe I’m overthinking and barista touch is already enough for these needs?
