Great video! Just FYI, the “cheap” plastic attachment to the steam wand is just to protect it during transport (the wand non-burn), so you can it

Thanks for the feedback and the observation on the steam wand. Makes total sense!

Great review, thanks. Can you put the eco mode off? So it is able to run all day. (And if yes, how?)

Thank you. There is a push button under the machine on the right hand side. When it is in eco mode is engaged, when it is out eco mode is off.

I am looking to upgrade from my Sage Oracle Touch as recently the shot production is all over the place. I keep the beans in a airscape container the machine has been serviced and the upper burr grinder replaced as it seemed dull after 3 years of use. I am looking at going back to a separate espresso machine and grinder. I am looking at the Rocket Mozzafiato or the Cronometro type R is there much between them or is it just styling. Also I might just buy the grinder at first and wondered which one you might recommend or should I buy both at the same time. Sorry for the long winded message.

I’ve just replaced my old Giotto with a new Mozzafiato. They are identical inside and sell for the same price. It’s just a different look which is personal taste. I have also bought a new Mazzer Mini E grinder to replace my 10 year old grinder. Early days but very happy with both products. I do firmly believe that if you’re buying a machine like these particular Rocket ones it’s essential that you get a good grinder. Otherwise you’ll be disappointed in the output no matter how good your espresso machine. My other expensive hobby is home audio and the same principle applies. You’ve got to match the quality of your speakers to the amp.

With regards to rockets the term mozzafiato refers to the body design which is more square than the Giotto which is angular The cronometro refers to there being a shot timer which I think is essential Then type R is a reference to the rotary pump which is standard in commercial machines as opposed to the type V which you get in commercial machines. I prefer a rotary pump but it will come down to budget. Hope that helps clarify the models

May as well have. This machine was shipped to a customer who then watched it get dropped in front of them as it was lifted from the van 😖 it’s now back here and wouldn’t make a great video!!

Maybe your experience can be in help here to decide between this rocket model versus the Profitec P700?

Sorry never used the Profitec so couldn’t give an honest opinion.

Received my Rocket yesterday (exact machine, with wood upgrade) and it's absolutely beautiful! Question, having an issue with my group head pressure gauge (right side gauge) resting at 4 bars, it only drops to zero if I run the hot water for a good bit but returns to 4 bars once I pull a shot. Any ideas? Great video by the way, I'm a new subscriber¡

The dial in the right is the water pressure dial. So when the machine is dormant it should register an incoming water pressure of around 3 to 4 bar. Then when you make a coffee it should sit at 9 bar (the green area) before returning to its resting pressure. The gauge in the left is steam pressure. This will be zero when the machine is off and cold and then somewhere in the green zone when it gets up to temperature. Hope this helps.

Hi Brian, I came upon your comment. It is the same on my machine when I stop the shot (around 4bar), with water tank, not on the water line. I saw on bunch of videos that it also reads about 4, so I suppose it is normal. 🙂

One question, waiting time before it reaches temperature?
@carvetiicoffee
@carvetiicoffee 3 жыл бұрын
It’s got a relatively small boiler so pretty quick to warm up, maybe 10-15 minutes depending on the temperature of the water in the tank
@scider2
@scider2 3 жыл бұрын
Hx machines often have problems with temperature stability, is this one better?
@carvetiicoffee
@carvetiicoffee 3 жыл бұрын
I have to be honest and haven't used a specialist portafilter to measure the stability at the group. The boiler is relatively small and there is a lot of metal in the group (commercial quality) so it will be much more stable than other machines I have come across. That said if temperature stability is important to you, dual boiler machines would probably be more appropriate.

I hate the standard basket they pull really weak shots please share which baskets you said you use?

I use VST Baskets typically the 18g ones. They are pretty much universally available. Just Googled ‘vst 18g baskets’ and plenty of hits 😀 We sell them but not sure of your location?

Those little plastic pieces aren't there to hold. They are for transport, you are supposed to take them off. Steam and water wands are no burn. You don't need plastic on them. 🤣🤣😂😂
