The bad thing is I know what he's saying because the entire time I knew which goal was the right one. Idk how to explain it but I could spawn drive forward for a moment and know exactly which goal is which. That one tho, couldn't have told ya which was which.

@@Dawesome97 Yeah i know what you mean. But that sense of orientation only works because of the lighting and the shawdows which is why it doesn't work on the last map. And i realised that right in the beginning and it made me angry, that rapid couldn't express where it was coming from 🙃

@@simonrohrbach539 it's one of those hard things to express in the moment. But I'd just call it field awareness. Not necessarily like of the game as a whole but when I spawn in on a map that is in a competitive rotation, I can almost always tell which is blue vs which is orange even if it's grayscale. And I won't lie, I don't even play comp like that

On the last map, the stripes on the ball indicate the side since there is only 3 stripes. The Ball always spawns with 1 stripe (almost directly) facing the blue goal, while the orange side has the opposing "solid" side facing it with 2 stripes visible facing the corners.

Even if you unbound your scoreboard, the problem comes with the nameplates. Your teammates' nameplates are rounded, while your opponents' nameplates have corners on the sides

Leth was trying to find out which side is blue and which is orange from the get go. Rapid was trying to find which side was his and which was yours. That's why he needed the first goal to be scored. Then, he was counting on his sense of direction. Which sometimes would work. Sometimes it was just luck + copium 😂😂😂😂 Having him by himself trying to score several goals on the same side was the right call.

You can actually tell on the last map by the mid boosts: The boost will always have 2 "feet" facing the blue side and 1 "foot" facing the orange side.

You can actually tell the diference in the last map because of the brightness, blue is darker than orange because of the hue. Trust me its true.

@@Lethamyr actually if you look at the wall, you can see the stripe running across it and the transition from orange to blue. blue is slightly darker. i tested it when rapid was shooting at the end and guessed it every time using that. idk how it looked in game but i could tell in the vid.

it's funny how rapid was so confident, also it's hard, but you CAN tell what side is which. the blue side has a slightly darker lighting with the lines, but can only tell by looking at the middle lines that join together at kick off.

It is literally the side of the ball being either light or dark facing you on kickoff. Therefore it is always light when facing the blue goal or dark if you are facing the red goal.

The "mountain" peaks in the background do actually help indicate which side. Behind the orange net, the highest peak is right around the center placement of the goal and behind the blue net you'll see the highest peak is just slightly left of center. It's not entirely symmetrical. But it's damn close.

When spectating rapid at the end the camera doesnt immediately hard cut when he is teleported from spawning. There is a very very very small camera travel time from the position he was in when the goal was scored to the position he is in when they respawn. And it might be easier to spot oh higher fps rather than the 60 fps youtube supports. Also that camera travel time seems to disappear if you skip the replay. Dont think its useful besides the spectator knowing what side it is except once they join a team its back to camera hardcuts. Thought Id mention it cause I noticed it at the end and thought maybe that was how but its only seems to be a spectator thing

You can tell which goal is which by the transition of the camera from the goal repetition to the kickoff cam

there is a camera swap in between the replay and the spawning of the players in bakkes mod (if you scored on the replay you can kinda see the camera drag over to the opposite side of the field from where you scored) that being said if you score once and its right and you spawn on the other side of the field you can see the camera drag across the field but if the camera doesnt drag then you are on the same side, pretty sure thats how rapid knew and why he "lost sight" bc its honestly really hard to see

I got it! On Double Goal, the line above the goals is brighter at the orange half. But it is not easy to tell while playing, you need to carefully examine rhe goals every time to figure out which is which.

You can tell by the way you spawn in after every goal I’m pretty sure, if you spawn in and your camera is around already facing the ball them you’re on the side that you ended up on during kickoff but if your camera turns around or sum them you will know the spawns changed, the ball cam gives it away I think.

Rapid may have subconsciously picked up on the car shadows during game 1. Once a goal is scored, you should know if the shadow needs to be on your left or right when you score

The way I was able to tell on the last map is that the lights that go around the center where the ball spawns (and the ones that go around the edges of the walls) are slightly different in grayscale and if you look closely at where they meet in the middle you can see the difference

ngl I am with rapid on the first game I somehow knew which goal is which but it only works on urban central for me don't know why or how but it's just clear everytime. Although for the rest of the maps I can see the difference based on the layout outside of the field. And it didn't work on the double goals map because it's not a map that everyone plays on and theres no design

It randomizes the spawn only on entry to the map by the looks of it. So after the first goal you can get to know if you have to score normally or own goal. And you just have to remember which side is which when playing/tracking the ball. Orrrrr nvm it was just a 50/50 and they spawned without changing sides by luck

I was looking at the flags in the bottom corners. Orange has 1 lighter flag. In the last map you can see blue side is a little more dull and orange is a little brighter in the light strip above the goal. Shades was the only way I could tell. Didn’t even think of the sun.

You can tell just by the tones of gray frrom orange and blue, at least I could tell form the first map
