Most underrated bass player ever. The Duff/Izzy/Steven rhythm combo is the engine behind that albums success.

Ever listen to Matt Sorum try to play Steven Adler’s stuff? Fuck, it’s painful. He’s technically the better musician of the two, but the guy has no groove whatsoever.
@danboniface9144 жыл бұрын
Gregg Mather agreed. He’s much more robotic and is a pounder, where Adler has that groove that fit Appetite so well. I remember a quote by Izzy saying that Matt joining the band turned their sound from a Rock n Roll band to a heavy metal band.

I just said this to my band. One of theeeee most underrated bass players... probably cause they we're drunk half the time and didnt actually play the same riffs (lol jk) but seriously... haha. Love these guys. Always
@SombraPiloto2 жыл бұрын
@@mikedayNTDBASS Duff talks about at least once having no recollection of playing an entire show and in fact even visiting the country where the show took place (can't remember which one) and that blows my mind. His playing might've been a shit show that night but I could also absolutely see him ripping it like he does here. He's a top 5 favorite bass player for me.

It's amazing to hear the imperfections in a performance to tape. Even the switch being toggled at the very end around 6:05. Stuff you never hear in the song that you assume must be perfect yet it's totally human. Awesome to see how it all fits together in the end and all the little imperfections that make rock such an amazing form of media for the listener.

Such a groovy dirty tone on this song! It almost sounds down tuned although it isn’t! The bass really popped on this on the original cd! I don't know where to find them nowadays but years ago I found a rip of the AFD Blu Ray set on some torrent websites. I downloaded a raw rip of the Blu Ray, the album in FLAC format, and the 5.1 surround mix of the album (which sounds insane) in DTS format. I stopped torrenting so I don't know for sure but I think you should still be able to find them if you're willing to go that route, just check popular torrent sites.
