@ItzSpritz3 жыл бұрын
@@cilious670 the heljump was this mechanic without the wavedash. So instead of wavedashing, you kept your flip while aerialing
@HoraryHellfire3 жыл бұрын
@@static2634 @ItzSpritz Not correct. The "HelJump" is a separate behavior entirely. The HelJump requires you to have a double jump stored and to use said double jump *before* your back wheels touch the ground. This can cause your front wheels to lift *and* will reset your ability to dodge without jumping off the surface. This mechanic is jumping *as* your back wheels hit the floor and does not restore your flip the same way, since you are jumping off a surface you are limited to the 1.25-1.45 second double jump/dodge timer. However, it's still somewhat old at about 2 years since it is based off of the "Sonic Flip" mechanic that is mentioned in the video.

Yep, this is for sure an absolutely revolutionary mechanic. You mention it being applicable in about 1/3 of landings... I don't know how much calculation went into that estimate, but after playing around in freeplay with this in mind, I think this can be usefully incorporated in the vast majority of landings at the high SSL/pro level. Even if not used, the player will very likely have to make a decision on whether or not to use it. There are just so, so many situations for which this mechanic is applicable. Great work.

I think this also works for sideflipping in a wave dash. Where if you land one side offset from the other (rolled to the side instead of forward), and add in some turning inputs, you can get that same velocity increase but in a more diagonal direction. Perhaps not as efficient (and maybe more difficult), but a while ago i did this on accident and got a goal from it but couldnt consistently recreate it. I guess now I gotta go try :D Thanks HalfwayDead! Im bout to be so heccin zoomy

Didn't try, just a guess before the video is published: You land on the front wheels and let them bonce up (after all wheels touch the ground for a split second) hold back to pull them up and dodge forward again. I think the angle has to be very specific

^ This. Besides manually doing it, is there a bakkesmod plugin for it?
@RocketScience3 жыл бұрын
There is a console (F6) command "sv_replay_snapshot_take putsomenamehere" then when you're in custom training creation you need to first load one shot or it's not gonna work, then go back to the shot list and put "sv_replay_snapshot_paste thenameyouputhere". Unfortunately this won't copy the starting speed, which is why I had to look at the numbers manually and set the speed through the variance section of the mod.

Super impressive research and analysis, and a useful and cool new mechanical skill. BUT, there’s one point that people seem to ignore when talking about mechanics like this: the mental overhead required to pull off a highly advanced mechanic. Yes, it can become muscle memory, but to me, decision making at this high level is more important. That extra second you’re taking to concentrate on nailing an intense mechanic, to save fractions of a second or a dozen or so boost, could be better spent thinking about the route you’re taking, the position you should be in, or mapping where all players are on the field to buy time or make a play. Rocket league is a super fast pace game at high levels, and overall I think simpler is better. Turbo exemplified this over and over again. KISS.
@RangersGirlJackie993 жыл бұрын
I've been working on this for a while ever since I picked up the speed-flip, it's honestly easier to start a chain dash this way than just single jumping (and of course you accelerate much quicker). Most of the time I do it on low boost and use different wave dash directions to pick up a lot of small pads quickly. I genuinely thought everyone was doing this at a high level lol I guess that explains why I've rocketed from mid-GC to low SSL in just the few weeks I've been pulling it off cleanly. The efficiency boost-wise is unreal, even with the busted ass, stick drifting DS4 controller I'm using.

6:05 I managed to do is very consistently, because I play on KBM and I use a method of click, called "drag clicking" (popular in minecraft god briding, you basically slide your finder on the right click and get many clicks cos of friction with small delay between one another. God briding requires you to time the drag click, so u can place block in the right time (around 40/100 ms time gap,not sure) but this is the 2nd time I'm finding a use for it.) The mechanic gets you to super sonic in almost no time, nor boost if done correctly, you can react fast in case you have to while/after executing it. (50/50,shots, ect)
