Preflips were invented by golds constantly flipping around the field, out of boost, until one day they flipped into the ball and scored the first preflip goal ever. Mostly likely an own goal, but a goal none the less.

This the most true video I have seen by you in a long time! I'm so incredibly happy that some of the bigger names start realizing that not training the basics gets you truly better but trying the hard. When I started playing Rocket League in March I listened to all you guys and trained the basics but didn't have much fun. Then I said fuck it and became sort of a freestyler. I suddenly had way more fun and had a crazy skill boost. I never became a true freestyler cause most of my skills just result in mechanical improvement not doing these things in my normal gameplay. But still I improved incredibly fast and now hit diamond with less than 300h. I am abled to pull of most of the skills you mentioned but I don't use them in ranked. I almost never play in free play to train normal skills like wavedashing, aerialing and so on. Instead I always try to learn new crazy things. In my mind it's like "Wow, this guy on Twitter pulled of an amazing freestyle involving a ceiling shuffle. I should try to learn the ceiling shuffle so I can do the same" and several hours later I pull of the exact same shot in freeplay. Then I go to ranked and play completely normal and don't even think about doing something like this but I still am a lot better. Thx for reading 😉

I just started trying flip resets and stalls with my own setup in freeplay, as you said, I also improved, without intent, my basic mechanics. Pushing yourself to do a skill beyond your skill lvl really helps you improve. To know what skill lvl I'm at atm, 50% of the time I even get a normal flick while dribling, the other 50% I awkwardly miss the ball

@@kmw5100 Well there's no method really, when I was plat (only 4-5 months ago) I just told myself "Whenever I lose because of my teammate or whatever, I'll just skip to the next game and dont care at all about my rank". Im now champ 2, I've been playing for a year. Not caring about my rank actually helped me reach higher ranks, I think setting yourself objectives won't help you at all, each time you'll lose you'll just get frustrated because you're slowing down on your purpose
