It's always the kids in games that end up bringing internet people together with wholesome vibes and encouragement for them. Always the kids. I mean, some kids definitely do the opposite, but in terms of people in games who bring the viewers together, most of them are kids. They're honest, real and hold the right priorities where it counts for real. Thanks spinach, you're an inspiration to me, I feel like we can learn from you, and apply your attitude to not just games, but life in general as well.

Didn't know quite what to expect, but this was legitimately interesting and wholesome. It's easy to forget that some people treat RL like any other game and are just having fun figuring it all out. That said I'd gladly take Spinach over half the platinum teammates I've solo queued with any day, as he didn't bail the nanosecond you were down one goal.
@Viranical Жыл бұрын
the bailing when down a goal is actually so bad now, it's gotten to a point where I've had teammates vote ff on tied/winning games because they didn't like something I did, and then watched them turn the match into a 3v1, not even like they played bad, but full on joined the other team's rotation to attack our net
@moosewhizzerdave2066 Жыл бұрын
The frequency of how often that happens astounds me. It worries me a little too. I'm an old geezer of 57, a Gold III solo cue 3v3 player, so almost all my tm8's and opponents are kids by comparison. The level of "quit" in some of these kids scares me. Have they never fought for a comeback? Do they quit on things that matter in life as easily as they quit on a video game that doesn't matter? I hope not. As a kid I played a LOT of pickup football, hockey, baseball, basketball games. There were one or two kids in the neighborhood who would more or less quit when things got tough. To me that made the game interesting - now there was something to overcome. And if your opponent was the "quitter", you knew where to go with the next play...and you knew whom you never wanted on your team. And speaking from experience, the quitter attitude - that translates fully into real life issues later on. Want to know the secret to ranking up? Here it is. Make sure your team scores first. If you can go up 2-0, even though there is 4:30 remaining in the game, you can rest assured that at least one player wants to FF.
@tedjovel1876 Жыл бұрын
@@moosewhizzerdave2066 I agree with you, for me it makes me even more up for it having to make a comeback. Being down 2-0 with 4 minutes left on the clock is not the time to panic, my mindset is that there’s plenty of time.
@M374L4L1F3 Жыл бұрын
yeah it's too bad once you get into the higher ranks it's not as fun, plat is gross you make a mistake and they are on you like your some SSL player, i'm in plat without getting sweaty cause that's my skill level naturally and if they are too i'm sure they miss. it makes me a bit tilted.
@moosewhizzerdave2066 Жыл бұрын
@@tedjovel1876 I played four games this afternoon. Game 1 - player bailed when we were down 2-0 with about 4 minutes left. Game 2 - player was DOA, never started, so it was a 2v3 the entire game. Game 3 - player bailed right off the bat, then returned, we won. I assume he returned because of a warning note he saw when he bailed, because his ping was fine. Game 4 - player was DOA, never started, he bailed immediately, another 2v3. I had enough at that point. I always have a season of 3v3 going with bots offline, so I played a game of that and turned off the X-Box. The bots stink, but they don't quit and they don't complain.....

Spend silver and gold learning the game. Just like Sledge said, new players get dumped in those ranks so you could get people with skills from plat who've deranked, or total noobs on your team. Bronze is refreshing. Its the way the game was meant to be played. I was stuck at my cousins house for a few days and downloaded rocket league and just like sledge says, nobody quits or tries to forfeit. Nobody flames chat. It was liberating man. Just drive and hit ball, thats it. No constant anxiety weighing you down that someone will become toxic and quit or throw. It was awesome (and like sledge, i played like a bronze to keep it fair). Then I came back home and my first game back in gc1 the opponents score to draw it even at 1-1 and theres an instant vote to forfeit and a teammate who gave up and sat there throwing a fit in chat for the rest of the game. Just depressing man. They gotta do something about the forfeitting and quitting. Now it's the exception, not the norm, that my games finish in full time with all six players.

I really feel like there should be added a leauge under bronze. Because at this point the inflation in gold to diamond is terrible. The biggest problem being gold and plat and low diamond. The skil gap is to big in these ranks in my opinion.. and thats is mostly because the skil in bronze and silver is incredibly low. Leauge of legends had the exact same problem in bronze and silver.. And added iron, since then the skill level in bronze and silver have improved and the distribution is more even between skil ranks.

I wonder how long it would take someone to rank up in Gold/Plat but playing nicely with tm8s and not cutting/chasing to win - because I think you're right here 100%
@BrucifyMe2 жыл бұрын
Rocket League has always had this problem. Back in the original season 4-5 (2017), this exact inflation was still there, it just occurred lower on the ladder, mostly from Bronze 3-Gold 1. Those ranks, especially Silver 3, were hell for players to climb out of. I think they should just shift the MMR ranges around a bit and especially make Bronze a meaningful rank again. I've got friends and relatives who play in Bronze and with what I see from them, it genuinely seems like more smurfs exist at that rank (especially as it is either their destination, or first stop in placements) than actual Bronze players. With the exception of Bronze 3 since it seems to be a little better than 1-2, it's like Bronze might as well not exist at all - and currently, it already kinda doesn't, as Silver 1 has essentially taken its place. Psyonix need to justify and utilize the ranks they have now (with the exception of Champ and above as those playerbases will always - and should - be naturally small) before adding more, IMO.
@brackenhays55302 жыл бұрын
@@BrucifyMe You nailed it. I wonder if some sort of play-to-earn thing where maybe skilled players could earn real money - and tiered to earn more at higher ranks - would combat it. I think highly skilled players get more incentive out of potential video content than in-game items from psyonix.
