I'd still have to guess a large reason for Jordan's departure is because his kids are probably around school age now & Bring Me has an insane touring schedule. He probably wants to be home more as they grow up. Not sure if we'll ever know the exact reasons, but it really doesn't sound like there was a massive blowup.

Rumor has it that he wanted more money, since he was doing more than any of the other members except for Oli, of course. Also, the band has released literally dozens of clips from unfinished songs since COVID. Just a guess, but I think Jordan was getting sick of Oli coming up with all of these crazy new ideas, but only being able to finish a handful of songs.

I think not only was it amicable, but I think Jordan and Oli came up with the idea and then brought it up to the band, who agreed. Here’s the thing: Oli has openly said “it became like the Oli and Jordan show”, Jordan openly said “I want to be at home more”, and they both agreed openly that they make music on a “release it vs perfect it” dichotomy. So what does that mean? Well its obvious, if Oli wants to give more writing back to Matt, Nicholls, and Lee, as a band they want to work with multiple producers, Jordan wants to be at home more and work with more bands like Mick Gordon was doing in 2020, and admittedly Oli & Jordan have different ideas about the perfect output, whats the solution? You let Jordan loose. Allow him to be home, work with as many bands as he likes, leaving BMTH to move on. Jordan really was a producer for the band, when it comes down to it: yes, he was a member, but his role was a songwriter/producer, and people have been DESPERATE for him to produce more widely since Sempiternal over a decade ago, and Jordan gave the band the tools and growth they needed to continue on that path without him holding their hand and literally walking them down it. I don't think Nex Gen, or even Post Human, should they continue it as we all thought and don't decide to abandon it after nex gen, will truly be the last time Jordan Fish will be credited on a Bring Me project, I just dont think we’ll see it again for a while, and I don't think we will ever see him as a member again.

I think it went something like this (personally): Jordan Fish realized he could be a literal Music Producer making the biggest of big bucks in the industry, and not be tied to one singular band... that's it. That's all there is. If Oli's take on the situation of always been busy making music and never stopping is accurate, then it's easy to think "So Fish is just going to keep making tons of music, but with lots of bands now... also, he'll make more money."

I think it's pretty amazing how the (hyper)pop and metal worlds really actually collide with this album. Post human Survival Horror leaned in that direction, but some songs on that album were far poppier or heavy, leaning in one direction or another. This new album, for the most part it seems like a really cohesive blend.
@newman-tornado1007
@newman-tornado1007 3 ай бұрын
The previous Post Human was way more Metalcore than anything they made after sempiternal. To me it felt like a return to their roots, but not totally abandoning their new style, a lot of the songs on that album I could see placed on either their old old ones like Dear Diary or in their That's the spirt/Amo era like 1x1. Nex Gen is a completely different story, it feels way more like a sequel to Amo than it does to Survival Horror, Oli and the boys are just experimenting with some different stuff, not going into any particular direction but still making some coherent sounds. So much so that it even has it's own version of Mantra, that being Kool Aid. Both songs are the heaviest on their respective albums are they both also has similar lyrical contents. And yeah, I love them both, they're definetly on my top 5 favorite BMTH songs. But anyway, my point is that Nex Gen isn't as much of a follow up to Survival Horror as it's title may suggest, and they are pretty much just following the road they would have anyway, with that 2020 EP being more of a side project than an actual big step on their evolution as a band.

If it was amicable, one has to wonder why Jordan Fish no longer follows any of his ex-band mates, their partners or the BMTH page? Seems like an odd move, in a digital world, that stokes the fire imo. Also the language in the quote “I’ll never say a bad word about Jordan in terms of the creativity he brought” read between the lines there…
@NickJ7903
@NickJ7903 3 ай бұрын
I think that it was amicable but Oli has then given a side to the situation that makes himself and the rest of the band feel better about it. I think that Jordan wanted a more stable and comfortable career path that enabled him to be around his family much more and then Oli is saying that he thought losing Jordan would be terrible but it's not because although it felt like the Oli and Jordan show for a long time, the rest of the band took the backseat in the name of progress but they do have so much that they want to contribute so the aftermath wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. In regards to the Oli and Jordan show, this is something that a lot of people felt about the band for a long time but after hearing how much more the rest of the band contributed on Survival Horror, and on the singles from Nex Gen, I think that people started to see the band as a whole rather than the Oli and Jordan show and then once Jordan left, they reworked the rest of the record and added more to it and I think that it is a testament to what the band is capable of when they work together as a whole. Unless Oli blatantly comes out with controversy surrounding the situation, I don't think that people should jump to conclusions about what happened. Jordan did a lot for the band and they wouldn't be where they are today without Jordan's help. I know that a lot of people wanted heavier music forever but quite honestly, if you want the same music, go listen to the album you like. Their music now is really great and there is also a lot of room for improvement and that's a pretty good thing. I hate when I listen to a band and think that it can't get much better than what they're doing and then it doesn't get better at all. You never know what direction BMTH are about to go in and I love that, I love knowing that I love the band enough that I'll like whatever they make but not knowing what exactly they'll make. I think that once Oli formed that opinion, that then caused a bit of tension between both sides but I don't think Jordan or Oli are bad at all for how time has served them. They're doing their own things and thats just it. Also, if anyone thinks "what about the songs that seem like they're about Jordan", well, if you've been a fan of the band for long enough, you know that they always write songs about ex members when they leave or fired, whether they hate the person or not, they still do it, it's emotions put into music, that's BMTH, but also, I don't think that Oli at all said that any of the songs were about Jordan no matter how much you can associate lyrics, until someone in the band says what they're about, the lyrics should be open to interpretation. Lines like "I hope you wrote all your songs for me" and "still alive but you're dead to me, see you later punk, r.i.p" could literally be about anyone who has ever worked with the band or Oli, or even another music artist. I think that pinning it as lyrics about Jordan is actually a bit of a reach considering how close Jordan and Oli were.

The interview backs up the rumours of jordan wanting a higher percentage which would of meant both Matts would of got less. I'm guessing there was a fallout between Jordan and other band members more than with Oli

1) The speculation on Reddit about Jordan's departure centers on a potential dispute over songwriting credits and the division of profit$. Jordan, who has been a significant creative force alongside Oli for much of the past decade, may have felt that the rest of the band receiving writing credits was unfair, given his substantial contributions to Oli's ideas. Oli, on the other hand, likely wanted to share profits equally with his long-time bandmates. This disagreement could have led to the decision for Jordan to leave. The fact that the rest of the band unfollowed Jordan on social media supports the idea of a significant fallout. 2) Jordan is a phenomenal artist but I lowkey kinda hate that his sauce is being shared with other bands that have been trying to copy Bring Me for the past ten years LOL well we'll see how that goes.

oli has probably be my biggest inspiration and help. I've been addicted to substances for a very long time but he's helped me realize just how destructive that really is. then through his music knowing someone has walked down this road and feels the way I did amd hearing someone say something about it helped me get sober. I've relapsed a few times no doubt, but I always find a way back in the saddle and get sober again amd of course huge thanks to my girlfriend whose helped me so much with this. my point in saying this is good enough or not it's your attempt that matters no matter what it is in life.

Everyone forgets the other 3 members of BMTH are ogs from 2004. They've basically been pushed out of the writing process since sempiternal. What I took away from Oli's interview is it seemed as if the other members wanted to be heavily involved in the writing process again and if Jordan wasnt willing to allow that then they wanted him out. I don't think Oli even necessarily wanted him to depart. It was a matter of- Do I stand by the dudes who have supported me musically without question since 2004 or the man who helped elevate our band to an entirely new caliber? Given that Jordan wanted a less road intensive schedule, it made more sense to go the course that would make the og members happy

All imma say is I def don't think there was bitterness involved. Maybe it was more to do with Jordan himself feeling like he's going on a different path, maybe as a sole producer. On the day of the announcement, Oli reposted a photo of him with a heart emoji to his stories. Don't think you do something like that if it's not amicable. Anyway, super excited to see what Jordan does next. I think he goes by the moniker "Evil Twin"? He's done some amazing prod work.

Jordan took BMTH's rough and gloriously hellish sound and enhanced it to become something truly refined and spectacular with his keyboard, synths, samples and all round sound production methods. Without him they go back to a run of the mill metalcore sound. I totally understand why he split. The whole electronica/pop theme was getting too generic for me personally. Amo had some good songs but it was too commercially monetized for my liking. It also felt like BMTH was becoming the Olly and Jordan show. Lee, Matt and Mat are fantastic musicians that I feel we're getting sidelined in the studio and production sessions. If you listen to BMTH's early music you can hear Lee's incredible guitar riffs and hellfire shredding. He's a proper underdog. I honestly think that BMTH should look for a keyboardist and possibly even a DJ to fill Jordan's place. Otherwise I think their sound will go heavy again (which is great!) but become very generic and repetitive (which is bad)

Jordan wasn’t there from the start like the others so a vibe change for him is different than for the band. After the band releases the album and tours they’ll probably have a new paradigm shift again

I loved how versatile it was genre wise, it went from pop punk, electro type music to ultra heavy I love that they just do what they want to. I think if there any band to make rock popular to the masses it will be BMTH 🖤 and thats awesome ! Did you enjoy it ?

Agreed with you on Amo. It gets a lot of hate for being a huge departure, but is easily my favorite album. Aside from the Music to ~ compilation, I can't say they've released anything I don't like, and even that is just that I'm indifferent to it. I love how much they experiment with new sounds.

Nex Gen is amazing. Best album since sempinternal. So happy fish wont be apart of it anymore personally. You can tell he just got on board during sempinternal and only had partial role on the new album although the songs he did on Nex Gen are fantastic. Its so good I tried listening to AMO again but still cant find much to like on that album and thats the spirit was pretty lam imo. Seen them live during suicide season album tour and they sucked so bad lol. Seen them for the sempinternal album tour and they aere great. Seen them a few years ago and they were even better. Beingthat they have worked on them selves the past 20 years and from what i have heard from the new album I am finally optimistic about the next batch of songs. Nex Gen rules!

Idk man… the end of the song “rip” when it says “we’re gathered here today in memory of the Fish”. It sounds like that entire song was directed at Jordan, which, if that is the case, then it wasn’t just creative differences at all.

I LOVED the album and have been waiting for it for so long it was everything I needed and more. I’m appreciating it more each time I listen to it. What I got from some of the things he said was maybe there was too many ideas being stirred between the both of them. Like there was too much creative energy it was starting to turn chaotic. I know some people have theories about RIP leading into Amen being a diss to Jordan and maybe it is. Maybe what Oli said was just a nice way of putting things. Regardless though, that’s there business and they don’t owe me anything but this new album so I’m all set 👍

I heard it was because Jordan was mad about how the income was equally distributed. He felt he deserved more. Idk but that’s what i heard. Who even cares tho since Jordan doesn’t really have any hate towards BMTH and they don’t have any hate Jordan. If nothing controversial came out about the departure is because nothing sketchy occurred

While not confirmed, there is no way their new song RIP isn't a straight up diss track about Jordan Fish. Even the outro seems to bleep out his last name.

@@eclipses3131 nah, it's an obvious PR stunt to keep their image intact. Oli didn't outright say that Antivist and True Friends were about Jonah, but everyone knows. Now he will just make everyone sound like BMTH 😂 his influence on metalcore is insane, but now that he is producing for a lot of bands, it’s hard to see how people won’t use it as an opportunity to just do sempiternal 2.0

1:40 I do not agree with that. Listening this album as a whole, gives singles like Kool Aid and Darkside completely new feel. There are great transitions between one song and another. Intros and outro allows, for example Amen, to hit differently. Its like discovering song once again.

I think Jordan understandably wanted a bigger cut of the money, as he was producing tonnes as well as not enjoying the touring as much as Oli. A pay rise would have ben fair. But the other guys would have likely left the band if they were pushed out of the creative process and then paid less and just felt like nothing more than guys there to play instruments on tour. Shame. Hopefully Jordon produces more for them in the future
