Great video! So I’ve upgraded my audio system on my Harley with front and lid speakers. I’m using a Biketronics 4 channel amp for front and rear speakers plus a separate mono-block for 8 inch subs. Can i still use the dsr-1 for the 4 channel amp, even though it has no tuning capability? It’s just plug and play

I tried having my local RF authorized/HD installer put this in my 2018 Street Glide special. The unit would power up, but they had no idea or desire to figure out how to tune it. Now it is sitting in my garage.

Search for Five Star Car Stereo on KZbin. Tuning on any DSP follows the same principles, the specifics of each unit differ. Five Star have a tuning video on this unit I believe.

My RF DSP-1 will be here soon and I already have the RF system ready to be installed. Does the install differ much when installed with the RF 4 speaker, 400 watt Harley system? I have a 2020 Road Glide Special. Thank you for this video BTW.

You spent more time explaining how to connect rca cables than you did how to connect up the device to a Harley, if someone doesn't know how to connect an RCA then installing one of these might be out of their league. Would have been nice to see what each of the output Cables do, ie which one for lowers/ fronts/ saddlebags/ tourpack/ subs etc.

I have install Rockford PMX 9813 digital media receiver and stage 3 fairing and saddle bag speaker on my Harley Davidson 2013 road glide custom , can this DSR1 work ?

hey brother, i installed a Rockford fosgate amp with 2 ds18 , and it sounds bad... went to HD to flush the radio and was told that the amp dose ot show up... do i need a DSP for my simple application ? thanks in advance ...

That male spade connector only fits the negative speaker wire, black plug, not the positive white plug. I had to cut the male spade to make it more narrow to fit the positive white plug. Would be great to actually show where the wires are connecting to. I know theres a remote input on amp but where does the other remote wire go from the dsr1?

Are the changes on the app happening in real time so you can use an RTA to properly equalize the system or you make the changes and then have to upload them???

Great Question. As you move the sliders on the app the rta will reflect the changes allowing for real time tuning!

I have a 2018 Road Glide Special, it’s not been flashed yet, I have Hertz MLK 1650.3 Legends, with a Biketronics BT4180 Amp, lone levelers. How do I install in from radio amp speakers using these component speakers since I have parallel Capabilities so my hamper is going to drop from 180 W per speaker for per side per channel to something like 125 because I’ll be paralleling or is there a way around that with the DSR1

Heavy Metal This is a pre amp item you put in. It’s wired up between your amp and head unit. So your speaker wiring to the amp is not affected nor is the wattage your getting. Also make sure you get your radio flashed. It’s super cheap and will immensely help the quality of your sound.

Flash the factory head unit. Otherwise you'll be chasing you tail on a tune. DSP goes between the head unit and amps. The DSP will further refine any signal from the radio. And allow accurate eq and crossover settings for your system. You'll find that you can tune your system for excellent performance.

Does the factory unit on the 2015 road glide need to be flashed when using the DSR1?

Yes sir it still needs to be flashed. The only way to get around the flashing is to replace the factory head unit.

Where would you place this on a 2014 Street glide with a RF amp on top of the radio already?

Should fit right on top of the amp depending on what RF amp you have. Rockford Fosgate TM400X2ad or x4ad is the one you should have. If you have the PBR series you need to switch it out. Not very good amps. However the 2 channel is much better than the 4 channel. That said. The unit is small enough to fit almost anywhere under the fairing.

I put mine if your looking at the front of the bike on the right hand side of the radio. There was just enough space on my ‘15 Street Glide to neatly tuck the excess rca’s and the DSR1 turned up on its side to slide in there and not be stuffing wires or any of that junk

What about the power ground and remote for dsp who does it get power

As a general rule of thumb I have all audio components (amp, head unit, dsp, etc) share a ground. Usually through a distribution block for clean / strong connection. Power; I like to connect through a fused distro block. A fuse close to the battery is a good safety practice. This simplifies wiring at the battery, which anyone else working on your ride will appreciate.

Goto Maestro's website. It will allow you to see if your specific year, make, model, and stereo package are supported.
