The things we dads do to take care of our daughters and sons. I changed the battery in my daughter’s car last year. I remember doing car repairs when my son was a teenager. He now does car repairs for his kids. He and I changed my granddaughter’s brake pads on her Toyota Camry last month. My son can do most car repairs himself. Good job, Brock.

Smart move getting the assembled drive shaft, especially with that split shaft. Was anticipating 1/2 of the video to be struggling with pressing in those U joints. Its amazing how the women in our lives can find cinderblocks with the car door like its a magnet..

It seems like everything comes as an 'assembly' these days. You used to be able to change wheel bearings, now it's a 'hub assembly'. I needed a new thermostat in my pickup, so I went to the auto parts store. The guy comes from the back with this big ol' box and I said that can't be it. He informed me that now it's an assembly. You have to change out the entire water neck, whether you needed one or not! With exorbitant prices to match! She's lucky she made it home, she definitely got all of the goody out of that bearing!

Wow, rich guy. Replace the entire drive shaft rather than changing the u-joint and the carrier bearing! LOL. I have changed many u-joints in my life. I hope never to change another one.

I know you are being sarcastic but from everything I can find they don’t sell that bearing. I found a couple of KZbin videos from guys talking about trying to find it. I couldn’t find it either. You might be able to find the same u-joint, but it’s not listed as an available part for this car The entire shaft was $328 with shipping

Good morning Brock. Wow! I can't understand why the car wasn't vibrating enough to rattle her teeth. And it probably should have been making a clanking noise when putting the car in gear or going from drive to reverse or visa versa. How tight should be the center mount bearing be in the middle with the two screws ?...i know it has a washer and rubber ..but should the center mount bearing be tight or allow some give ?

It looks like you replaced the entire drive shaft? Why not just replace u-joint and carrier bearing? Seems like that would be much cheaper.

Repairing the bearing and joints could cause bad vibrations without taking shaft to get rebalanced. It may cost more to rebuild it properly than to replace.

I have replaced u joints before with no dynamic balance issues at all. It’s such a small diameter compare to something like a wheel that it’s negligible. You do need a bearing press tool to do it however

Rock! I cracked up...your T-shirt! You have to give an explanation about its meaning. I recall a "Frasier" episode with Gertrude Moon talking about "soaking her smalls." I didn't know to fix these issues was a total shaft-bearing replacement rather than a U-joint spider and the center carrier bearing individually. Maybe Kia doesn't piece meal the parts... it's all or none?

@@RockhillfarmYT I'm one of the thriftiest (cheap) folks around - but I must admit, $328 is probably worth spending to make the job a straight-forward swap out. Replacing a bearing and a u-joint ain't rocket science - but it's more things to fool with and maybe bugger up when all you really want to do is get the job done quick and have your kid's car back on the road safely. That's not always the greatest advice. Perps can place zipties on driveshafts or CVs in a parking lot so the person stops on the road to see what's making the noise. People get kidnapped like that.

Well... we watch every video everyday and are subscribed and we hit like on every video and yes there was some sarcasm in my comment... and I'm pretty sure there's a bearing in and/or bearings somewhere in the world somewhere for that car. I've always gone with ur statement that if ur an idiot u cant change it and I agree, I'm an idiot sometimes too and that's why I liked u and that's why I liked to watch u.
