The thumbnail got me. I've never seen Bill Champlin that young and with a beard. 😊 But Bill is music's living legend. Can sing, play guitar and piano, a composer. Just like Jason Scheff. Both accomplished but humble musicians. They are my bias in Chicago and I just content myself with their past concert performances. Since I don't like the current line up of Chicago 😁

“Tonight Tonight” is my favorite song off that album, it should have been with a number one hit and I wish it existed on karaoke!

Thanks for doing this, John! Runaway is one of my favorite albums of all time, and I was lucky enough to meet Bill in person and have him sign a copy for me a few years ago. Bill is actually one of my all time favorite vocalists, and David Foster did a fantastic job producing Runaway. "Tonight, Tonight", "Satisfaction," and "The Fool is All Alone" are outstanding tracks. I thank Bill for being a tremendous influence on me, and I wish him the best of health!

Agreed, 'Runaway' is such a great 'unknown' gem of an album. Other than all of the outstanding ballads, people who like Champlin's Chicago stuff have got to listen to 'Satisfaction'; the Seawind horn section kicks *ss on the bridge of that song. Jerry Hey hit some crazy notes on trumpet as it escalates.

No invite to attend HOF celebration for Chicago. I can understand Pinnick or Laudir not getting invite to be on stage. Champlin was with Chicago for three decades. I guess Jimmy Pankow's ego took up too much room.

Insecure perhaps. After Terry and Peter left, Chicago was heading for doom. But Bill and Jason helped them move forward and gave a different musicality and style
