Robin Zander has one of the best voices in Rock history. Still sounds great now.

For those that remember, Buck played lead on “STARZ” (The Dio humanitarian fund raiser) along side all of the 80s gunslingers such as Yngwie,Lynch, Gillis etc… For me personally, Buck nailed it…tasty and melodic, but I never really went for that shred stuff.

A great band. I spent a lot of time in Stony Brook in a science fiction library at the State University there. Cultösaurus Erectus is my favourite album, and had one of their collaborations, the song "Black Blade", with award winning Science Fiction & Fantasy writer Michael Moorcock who also collaborated with the British band Hawkwind.

Robin Zander..who knew? Love the youtube era where these interviews are so available. Love BOC since I first saw them in 1976. Buck is criminally under the radar on lists of great guitarists. One minor detail to add- While band was put together in 1967, the seeds were sown at Clarkson University in Potsdam in 1965 when Buck and Albert met as engineering students. Buck from LI, Albert a North Country guy from Clayton on the St Lawrence. Great interview thanks !!!!

B.O.C. killed live every time I saw them. It's a little weird to see these pretty ordinary looking old guys and realize that they were one of the most powerful, heavy and mind blowingly cool bands to ever exist.

the lead in dont fear... is like it's from a different universe, i dont see how a human came up with that not to mention the insanely cool main riff of the song.

So many to choose from, Chris Cornell, Lou Gramm, Bon Scott, John Fogerty, Freddie, Dio, Paul McCartney, Plant. I’m an Aussie so have to throw in Jimmy Barns and John Farnham.

I have always loved Blue Oyster Cult! Buck Dharma appears to be a reserved and regular guy. He is not at all the Big Ego type that so many other people in the music business are.

In Goldmine magazine there was an interview w Buck and Eric after Albert left. They seemed lost? And admitted that their songwriting would suffer. It did. Great to hear the Bouchard Bros. Unlike a lot of Rock guys, they are likeable. Def. talented.

One thing that bothers me about BOC is that they don't seem to have confidence in themselves. When Zep were asked about their favorites they would say themselves. A bit egotistical, sure, but it wouldn't hurt if Buck and Eric would say "well, other than by boy Buck/Eric, my favorite musicians are..."

I honestl think the should have kept their faces off the albums after 76 .. Names fine but No faces. I remember seein g them the first time, the just didnt look like Riockstars to me. The clothes & the mustache etc. Plus they appeared older.

Well I'll agree with you that Robin Zander isn't the best rock singer that I too have heard he doesn't make my top 5 even but he is probably in the top 10 to 15 range. Yet I would disagree with you in this regard in saying that he is really talented & underrated as his band & bandmates were as well at their respective musical contributions.

Peter Cetera has the best vocals. He did more than ballads. 25 or 6 to 4, Hideaway, and Woman don't want to love me, just to name a few. Life is What it is, a jazzy tune.

the best vocalists in rock are janis joplin, kurt cobain, layne staley, tom petty, bon scott and bob seger. Their vocals use a rare technique that virtually no one can do.
