You found more agates in two hours that I have found in my whole life. I love that green one the most, although finding a one pounder is quite an accomplishment.

me too.... Ive been collecting for over 60 years and to see his enthusiasm and expression of love of what I have spent uncountable hours doing is simply awesome. As his confidence grows he will become one of the best. In todays crazy world its nice to see a youngster connecting with the earth.

Yo Rob sent us over. We live up in northeastern iowa. We come to Minnesota occassionally on rockhounding trips mainly to Lake City which is on Lake Pepin and we visited lake superior last year. Love your finds. We subscribed to ya.

Score! That green one is the find of the day... so far. But if you get around to polishing that big one on a flat lap or by any other method, I have a feeling it's going to be insane! Nice hunt. LOVING the amount of bands in those agates there. Thanks for the vids!

Mary Ellen jasper has swirly patterns, which are the fossilized stromatolites. It also tends to have a bit more colors. Google is a great resource! Thank you for watching!

This reminds me of a location in Mora, MN. Gosh I miss rock picking in Minnesota, agates are much more difficult to find in Wisconsin.

Use Citric Acid to clean your finds. It works particularly excellent on the Black Maganese staining. Cheaper,cleaner, and safer.

Not sure if you're going to see this, but I found my first Green Jelly Agate today. It's a Fractured Membrane too. Not much banding for 4oz., but it is almost Emerald green, and a 5-6 oz. green jasper within 2 minutes on my favorite gravel road. I have a couple of green agates, but they're much more opaque. This one is crazy clear.

I'm in minnesota as well and grew up rockhunting in quarries and stuff. Starting to expand into water now lol. Are any streams/creeks good places to look in minnesota? Or do they have to run off of certain rivers?

I would say just about any stream that has rocks in it is a good place to look. A lot of the streams around me have a lot of mud and hardly any rock.
