Cool rocks! That is some beautiful country up there. You are lucky to have a place like this to hangout in. I’m in north east Texas and we only have mud 👍😎

Thanks for watching! We are truly blessed to have such beautiful public recreation lands. I didn’t have a chance to get up into the mountains much later in the season but the fall colors are breathtaking.

Thanks for sharing you latest finds, always appreciate you giving general directions on where you are at .They just cleared Fs 72 with an excavator recently, new material probably exposed ( frozen ground when I was there). Hope to run into one of these times when I am up there

I am so glad to hear they finally cleared it, that makes it so much faster to get to some of these spots. I am sure we will cross paths up there eventually, I am planning on doing some serious camping out there once the snow melts off

I found my way out to the old slope this weekend, dug 2 holes between 2 days and filled my bucket. Thanks for the awesome videos and telling how to get to the spots. The video really does no justice on how big, steep, and intense that landslide really is, I was dumbfounded and almost intimidated lol

I'm glad you made it out there, it's definitely a steep one! The material is worth it though

@@BlazeGoesRockhounding got a lot of white with tan and orange through it. Kinda looks like pictures I've seen of picture jasper but not too sure

Sweet material man! You ever go up further?! The lillypad thunder eggs are awesome!

Last year I took 410 all the way over the mountains with the intention to spend half a day at Little Naches, I ended up running out of light before getting there because I was having really good luck in the American River. I couldn't believe how many good agates I was finding. Those lillypads are on my list for 2022 though!!

Did you ever figure out what the opal like stuff was? I'd really like to see what it looks like cut or polished...
@whitneykiesler91422 жыл бұрын

So basically where the parking spot is with Brown sign about no shooting you walk straight up from there and that takes you to the old slope?
@BlazeGoesRockhounding2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lori, sorry for taking so long to get back to you. Yes, that is correct, there is an established trail beyond the sign that you should have no trouble finding. Good hunting and thanks for watching!

That's a great assortment of zeolites and apophyllites in the quarry there. Do you collect those too? They're fun to get into.
@BlazeGoesRockhounding2 жыл бұрын
Not specifically, but I did end up keeping a couple of the specimens I picked up in this video. Right now I am mainly hoarding things to use in the future for lapidary and knapping projects. I hope that some other people will get out to this spot once the snow melts and find some good stuff for their collections!

Where is that campsite with the quarry nearby? I really want to get some specimens from there
