Occasionally my wife and I wade the streams of S.W. Wa. and I agree sometimes the glare on the water can make it difficult to see. And yep we always seem to find ones we missed on the way in,on the way back!😄👍

My gramps was a rockhound. A Machinist by trade. He had a rock cutter, that was the size of a car in his work shed. He had a lot of fancy tools, he would facet gemstones and made tables with slices of rocks, into resin. He made all sorts of stuff in that work shed. I remember camping on the Nooksack way up on a mountain, off of hwy 20. My uncle found a Jade, about 25 lbs next to the river. I am in my 60s now and they are all gone, but I watch people rockhounding, its a thing now, and the resin pouring, my Gramps did that in the 60s, way before it was a big thing. Next time bring a empty spray bottle, with water in it, spray the ones on the beach, to get a better look at them.
