Great finds. That fourth biscuit almost looks like some fossils in it
@spwinaustin10 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! It would be awesome to find a fossil in one of the rocks but unfortunately that area is not likely to produce any considering it just about all igneous. But you never know…..

I'll be visiting my son at Ft Bliss in El Paso and would love to go somewhere to hound. I'm from SC so I know little about West hounding (went to Rockhound State Park in Jan and had no clue what I was doing) . I've enjoyed your West Texas vids and am hoping I can find somewhere to go that's been as full of treasures as the places you've gone. My OCD fights me to know exactly what I have in my hands but watching you enjoy what you have whether you know exactly what it is or not has freed me some. (Usually you know exactly) I'm using a Dremel for polishing (I've just begun cutting and polishing) and it takes forever but one step at a time. My wet tile saw gets the job done so can't complain there. You have found so many amazing things and I love watching your slabbing videos. Keep hounding!!!!! 😊😊😊

My favorite spot in southern Utah went about the same as this for one day but for some reason I don’t have the same luck. I’m jealous you’re finding so much good stuff!

I’ve heard great things about hounding in Utah! I lived there in the 70’s but was not into rocks 😞. Thanks for watching!

I’m in the same boat, I definitely need to better educate myself when it comes to rocks 😏.

That's amazing the variety of agate there! Everything but waterline it looks like. How recent was the area actively volcanic?
@spwinaustinАй бұрын
I honestly don’t know but I believe it wasn’t that long ago, relatively speaking 🤷♂️. We do find waterline agate there as well!😆

How do you get permission to rockhound on skunk hill??? My wife & I will be in Alpine next week
@spwinaustin3 ай бұрын
There are local guides who have permission from the landowner to take groups out for rock hounding. I think we Aaron Thomas who can be found on Facebook via the group Texas Rockhounds.

Find any projectile points?
@spwinaustin10 ай бұрын
No, but another hounded showed me a piece that they believed was hand worked. I generally don’t look for artifacts but I would certainly love to find one.
