I am pretty sure its about the pain of breaking up with the only person who loved him. They both brought pain to each other, but in the end he's glad to not bring her pain anymore.

It’s about suicide after a breakup

@@Leeciemunster Why do people always default to a song being about suicide because it's "emo"? Its not. Listen to the lyrics closely, or look them up.

@@xchafa Dear xchafa, Yes and no. While she did commit a crime that many would - rightfully so - deem unforgivable and downright obnoxious, in my opinion nobody is born evil. That becomes especially clear in this poor soul's case where years of abuse and neglect lead to her subsequent actions. Of course this is never a justification nor an excuse for murdering another human being and I do not condone such senseless violence, yet I implore you to at least try to understand my point of view, for I feel great pity for individuals like Alyssa Bustamante who - if it wasn't for their living conditions, difficult upbringings and constant neglect and abuse - could have ended up living a successful and happy life in our society. Sincerely, - Lucr3t1a
