I agree with you Don, that was a great song , what a request to all the young people of America, Mother's day, is gone Father's, day is coming let's do something a lot of the younger generation, and some older folks have forgotten to about SHOWING A LITTLE RESPECT & GRATITUDE, to the people who gave you life and love, and everything they could to make life better for you, I've lost both parents and believe me do everything you can for them now while you have a chance. GOD BLESS WAYLON, HE WAS A GREAT SINGER A GREAT REQUEST AND REACTION THANKS DON.

This song said it all with not a word too many or few. You try as a parent to give good advice and even tell them your mistakes, but at certain ages, they have to find out for themselves. That's life. Always up for a Waylon song and this was a great one. Thank you, Joshua, Dr. Burdell and Don!

Very good song . Yes a parent Mom or Dad you can tell your kids only so much and they gave to take it from there and then you have to let go and let them learn .Excellent request Joshua and Dr Burdell . Thanks also Don for excellent reaction.

I’ve always loved that one too. Don, react to Waylon’s “The Crown Prince”

Feel this song daily. My son runs his own business and I help where I can. He is doing REALLY well and I am so proud, but , as a parent you wait for the next shoe to drop. He is a heck of a diesel mechanic and the timing is right so , I keep praying. Heck of a song by my favorite artist, keep up the good work Don 👏.

Thanks Dr. Burdell and Joshua for this outstanding request. Everything Don said is spot-on, it's simply wonderful. And I looked up the writers: John Barlow Jarvis and Gary Nicholson, two outstanding writers indeed. Thanks Don for your perfect reaction, and yes it's a 10!

Thanks for this one Don. This is one of the truest songs ever recorder…… We try to be tough on the outside while crying on the inside at times. God bless ever father out there who has watched his son get through the hard lessons while subtly standing by and watching but knowing when it is truly time to intervene! Excellent!

Hey Don there is a good song that MO Pitney sings it is called Love her like I lost her. See what you think of it. I would send you some money but I am on Social Security and they don't pay enough.

This song has always been one of my favorites by Waylon. This song means so much to me for several reasons. My son Waylon Cheyenne Cash was my world, my rock and my best friend. He loved Waylon. One time we were talking and he said dad, sure wished I could have seen Waylon live. He said no one can play the guitar like Waylon huh dad. I told my son you are so right, no one can play that guitar like Waylon. This song is a 10 thanks Don for rating this as a 10! I had to have my son's funeral a week before his 15th birthday. Having a drunk driver and a convicted felon kill my wife and my only son is something I still struggle with daily. Thanks Don for nice and thoughtful comments you made about Waylon as well. God bless you!

Glad you enjoyed that one. I love the contrast between the roles of mothers and fathers in the song and the 'so you do all you can, but then you gotta let go.' I've got an 18 year old now, so this song and Statlers 'More Like My Daddy Than Me' have really been hitting home. Easter eggs in the letter: Amount Address Specialty Name: George P Burdell Slim times lately (see rival).

Wow. Tears. Somehow this one slipped by me without me hearing it. Going to send it to my son, for him and me and for him and his 7-month old son. Thanks again, Don.

@KevinRCarr That is so touching that you’re sending it to your son, especially since he’s got one of his own. So beautiful.

Its a hard job. The rewards can be great but sometimes they are deferred many years. You never stop being concerned for their success. You hurt with them in the failures. Sometimes all the while they blame you for their failings. Then one day they seem to finally pull it together. Things start going well for them. You are proud. You are happy for their success. Be happy , rejoice for them. Encourage. Even if they are being mean and rude. They might have a kid someday too. They might know how you feel someday.
