This is great! I was in the 3rd grade when I bought the 45 of 'Daisy Petal Pickin'. It and "Sugar Shack" take me back to a magical time. Love the fact that Jimmy sounds as good as he did 55 years ago. It's also interesting to hear that it was their manager Norman Petty "ruining" their song that gave them their biggest hit. So many artists are too intent on doing things their way and won't listen to suggestions from others. That flute-like Solovox gave the Fireballs a sound that stood out from the competition.

Great. Longevity and interviews very fortunately combine sometimes to record reminiscences which could very easily have remanained unknown moments in a person's life.

Oh, man, thanks for posting this interview, brings back great memories! Loved "Sugar Shack", but my favorite Fireballs tune was "Bottle of Wine". Wore out the 45 I had and had to buy another one. Drove my family crazy with it.
