A very useful review. How do you like those freespool reels? Looks ideal for ice fishing but people tell me they don't like the drag.
@brettbuttars27925 жыл бұрын
I like that the don't have the line twist. The black Berkley reel has absolutely zero drag. But its a cheap $30 dollar reel. The 13 fishing free fall is worth every penny. With the trigger to drop line and the fall rate is adjustable. The drag is ok for any fish I catch at local waters. The line twist is the most important thing with a light bite. Plus the reels let a 1/32 oz jig drop at a good rate.

@@brettbuttars2792 Thanks for the info. I've been on the fence about getting one.

What line are you using on the perch and crappie reels?

I really like the Suffix 4LB Ice Magic Neon Orange. It shows up really nice...its looks neon in the hole. Then about 10-12' of 4LB fluorocarbon. Seems to have low memory.

How does jigging feel with the super ultra light?
@brettbuttars27924 жыл бұрын
With the ultra light a 1/16 or 1/8 jig would be as heavy a jig as you would want to go. A heavier jig would put to much bent in the rod.

@@brettbuttars2792 do you get a good snappy action jigging or does it feel kind of sluggish? I’m looking to get one because the rod I have now can hardly detect any bites.
@brettbuttars27924 жыл бұрын
@@bmoney4548 The ultra light is ultra sensitive even a 1/32 jig will bent a slight bend in the rod. It's a great rod for perch and bluegill.

Are you fishing the west side of the lake? I’ve been having a hard time finding the perch up there. I’m heading up Thursday.

We were on the East side and had to search for them for a while. Fished in 30' early in the day and had to move to 40' later in the day. The school seemed to be on the move. So we had multiple holes all around us.
