@@motorcyclingTo I'm actually beyond the dreaming stage already, it's the skills (and guts) you already have what I'm still missing :D Your rides are very inspirational and prove that even though it's far from being ideal to do such off-road trips on heavy, overloaded adventure bikes, it's still possible to have fun if you are aware of what it takes, the limitations and you know what you're doing. I ride a big GS, so I know what to appreciate in these videos ;)

motorcyclingTO I hear you. What really blew my boots off were mom & pops on a decrepit flatbed hauling goats and barrels of water and god knows what else. Where they came from, how they got there and where they were going - always a mystery. What was a high adventure for me was just the daily chores for them. Good video though, nicely edited and produced!

@@UncleWally3 - the first shock of the kind I got was while in Mongolia. Picture this - 2 really well equipped 15.000 euros plus motorcycles, with gear and everything being outrun by a Chinese bike up and down the hills. Always great to see a V-Strom taking on such roads. I noticed you used Lomo bags. May I ask how you liked them and what mounting system you used to keep them off the exhaust?. Thinking about fitting them onto my 650, but am unsure about a solution for the exhaust side and I find it kinda stupid, to pay more for a mounting rack than the bags themself :D Keep up the nice content and always good luck out there.
@mzetz20033 жыл бұрын
What you pay is what you get. They are cheap, so not very good quality. After this crash they were not usable anymore. I have Givi racks. I recommend you Enduristan soft bags, Top Quality.
@laurenzt38113 жыл бұрын
@@mzetz2003 Hey, thanks for the reply. I looked into them, but Bumot xtremada bags are looking good too, especially the easy on/off option and symmetrical profile. Still undecided which to take :D that's why I was thinking about a cheap solution for inbetween ;) But I guess I'll go for one of those 2 options. And keep the nice content coming. It's really inspiring to see what a V-Strom is able to do :)

Man that was a great example of what a wet slimy patch on a road can do. I have a question about braking please. When you are travelling down those rocky gravelly hill side roads, do you mainly feather the front brakes? Do you ever use the back brake? Thank you. Love your videos. They give a really good insight into what the TET is really like.
@motorcyclingTo5 жыл бұрын
Hi, when going down I use both brakes, with the rear I test the available traction, while the front provides the main stopping power. For me it is a balance between both wheels.
@manuelfvdias3 жыл бұрын
Maybe it could be explained by the lack of grip in wet of Mitas 07... Don't you think?

To be honest I liked my rear E07 Dakar Plus (the "Plus" has a different thread pattern than the regular one). On the front I'd run the TKC 80 - better than the E07 IMHO.

I started the trip with maps.me - I like the interface and wase of use but half way through switched to OSMAnd - the interface is clunkier, not that user friendly but has turn by turn navigation on your own path (and we had the TET .gpx loaded - that proved to be very helpful). - for the OSMAnd is the slightly more complex (read complicated) interface. + on the turn by turn navigation on a track
