Pulling Teeth was the song that guy was singing, not Eminus Sleepus. Both great tracks and Pulling Teeth was actually the first Green Day song I ever heard at a buddy's house and I loved it and fell in love with the band, was sick to see that be someone's answer

Jesus of Suburbia. That song single-handedly described my teen years. I was a frustrated, depressed, and lost kid. I lived in a small rural town up until 8th grade, and I felt very alienated. I was misunderstood and often picked on for it. I moved to the suburbs in high school, and I made some new friends who I still stick with, but I still felt trapped. I don't think my friends understood either, but they didn't care since punk rock/pop-punk wasn't their thing. I'd often listen to it going skateboarding or riding my bike. 5 years later, I'm still listening to it

In my opinion “21 Guns” is anything but a deep cut-that was one of the lead singles that was played on the radio all the time (and made an appearance in the Transformers movie soundtrack). A true deep cut that is truly underknown and underappreciated: “No One Knows” from Kerplunk. Beautiful bass playing, and one of the few Green Day songs that doesn’t just use straight power chords. And one of the few with Billie-Joe Armstrong singing in his low register.

Don’t know how many people will agree with this but it’s gotta be Welcome To Paradise, easily. it showcases the best parts of the band when they work together, especially in the bridge, the bass and drums building up feels like the moment when you’re on a rollercoaster and you reach the peak and once the last verse/chorus comes in it feels like getting hit by the biggest wave. The song is an absolute rager

Hard agree. I could write a paper on Welcome to Paradise. From the way it starts with "dear mother can you hear me whining" and ends with "dear mother can you hear me laughing" and i especially love the way the line "A gunshot rings out at the station" is delivered, followed by a slight pause in vocals as the guitars just keep going. It stands as a commentary on what its like to live in a rough city - a gunshot rings out at the station and life just keeps going, no stoppage and no moments of silence. I love that fucking song

F.O.D. is super underrated one I never see talked about. Just the way it goes from a quiet and acoustic to loud and electric around two minutes in, is just so badass. It's also really, really catchy. When I was 5/6 years old I remember a colourful room and a fairly large guy carrying a guitar into it. I remember LOVING the video and obviously the song but with no idea what is was or why I loved it, it just became a memory that would be stored in my subconscious for many years. When I was 13 I was introduced to bands like Linkin Park, Offspring, New Found Glory, Blink etc and found a new love for Punk/Pop Punk music which I didn’t know was a thing until I heard it for the first time. It’s not something that would be played on local radio or TOTP, etc. UNLESS you had SKY and already knew your way around the music channels. BTW, no KZbin or music streaming back in 2003. Anyways, I’d be constantly watching my new favourite channels KERRANG and MTV Rocks to get down with all the new music I was now in love with. Then along the way Green Day release American Idiot which took the world by storm. Having not yet been introduced to Green Day I honestly believed at the time they were a new band. Of course I fell in love with the single and would end up saving up and buying what would be my first Album purchase. One day after school I came home and saw on the TV guide a TOP 10 GREEN DAY TRACKS on KERRANG. My first thought was ‘These guys have more than one single out?!’… Of course, I was introduced to the likes of Minority, When I come around, Warning and other releases. Got to number 2 in the list and it was American Idiot… I thought ‘No way! What the hells no.1?!?!… and of course, a large man, enters a colourful room with a guitar. Straps it onto Billie Joe. And I was reminded of Basket Case. It was the song and video I kept in mind after all these years and fell in love with again. I’ll never forget that. So that’s why Basket Case will forever be my favourite Green Day song AND song of all time. 🤟🏻

I love how diverse the commenters favorites are. Personally, my favorite has been 'Stuck With Me' for a long time. Not the most underrated from the album, but it hits every time.
