As a musician, I would have told them to pound sand too. It’s not unrealistic to think this title could have a 10 year lifespan given what gta5 has done. The musician’s counter offer of 7500 pounds per year for a buyout of 75,000 pounds would have been reasonable. That said, I’m sure rockstar isn’t hurting for music submissions so I’m not surprised they said no.

Personally, if I was playing GTA6 and Temptation came on, I would switch channels. Not sure why they are complaining either given the publicity it would have given that old, dated, 1980's so called song. It's free on KZbin anyway by multiple sources, so not like they are losing anything by accepting the cash. Yes, GTA5 made 8.4 billion but I can assure all music producers that it was not due to their music in the game, but rather than the game was bloody good. It would be like a hotdog vendor at a sport stadium saying his hotdogs should be sold for 10x more just because the players on the pitch make tons of money...

Well here is something to keep in mind, Rock Star Gaming is a business and in business it’s important to keep your over head costs to a minimum. Having said that, I believe it’s important for the musical artist to remember they are receiving loads of exposure to their music at no cost to them, so I believe the amount offered is a fair exchange. I also believe it’s totally unfair for people to just look at Rock Star’s gross income from GTA5 as a reference point. Just my opinion.

Temptation is indeed a nice song ... if the game was set in the 1980s. If it's set in modern day, the song isn't worth zip. I wouldn't even pay him $7500. There are far better (and more relevant) music to feature in the game.
